Personally, I don't use the self checkout option unless its 1-2 items.

I believe in supporting all the cashiers and most of the time always go to the registers instead.

I've noticed lately them trying to eliminate cashier jobs and only have one or two cashiers, and about 20 self checkouts.

Depends on the situation.
Last time I went to the store there was 1 cashier down at line 15, the self checkouts are down by line 1. I'm not walking my lazy ass down there because the company is too cheap to open more checkouts. It sucks, but it's the way of the world now. Fucking stupid how they can have 3 people standing around talking at the self checkout but they can't open up 2 extra registers.

If the cashier line isn't too bad, i'll go there. But usually the time of day I get groceries it's busy and there is usually a self checkout empty

and there is a cashier tending the self checkouts for whenever you mess up and need them to punch in their override code.

I only use selfcheckout. I don't remember the last time I waited in line to buy my condoms to get buttfucked in the car ASAP.

I basically only use the self checkout, it's so much quicker and the items never ring up wrong somehow.

You know how there's almost always a problem at the register, that seems to never happen for me at a self checkout.

They want you to use self checkout so in the future that’s the only option. They can show statistics to their shareholders “people are loving self checkout their using it more so we can save 2 dollars”

I do self-checkout like 99% of the time since I only purchase groceries for myself. It's so much faster than waiting in a line and i don't care for the social interaction. The conversations they create are typically stereotypical.

Anytime I use the self check out I end up scanning the item twice and I have to get the human to fix the machine.

Pretty much always use the self checkout at Walmart and grocery stores, it’s just a lot faster and can’t bother waiting for some old folk in front of me to do their thing...
