DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER

Hello,
I am relatively new here, maybe someone can help me with this: I have been scammed ($300 worth of BTC) by an user and I can see that he is alive and well, with no penalty on HF. The open dispute is here:
https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?pid=59309407
As you can see, we had a contract on HF, but he does not seem to care about the b-rating. My mistake was that I didn't use a mm and I trusted him to go first, but he had better b-rating than me at that moment.
Is this the way things are going on HF, just a negative b-rating and that's all?
Even more, I am trying to follow the user in question, in order to warn others that he is a scammer and he told me that he will report me because I am harassing him. Really?!
Maybe Omniscient can help me here
From what I have both read, and from what I have seen, most of the time when something like this goes unresolved, the user ends up banned.
I know for a fact that I have seen a few members on here banned just by simply browsing through the forums. How ever, as rude as I may sound, one things for sure with ALL transactions, use a middle man. Best of luck OP, I hope you get this resolved.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Also everyone sees the disputed contract. They see both sides of the party. I refuse to exchange anyone with an open dispute. And when I do look into their dispute they use vulgar foul and neurotic language. you maybe ruined his rep forever at least? Sry you got scammed mate ... fuck
What part of HF will not be held responsible for deals made by members. All deals at your own risk you didn't understand?
Scams happen everywhere. We cannot prevent it.
Staff member 10th Jan 2017 - 30th May 2020.
HF Administrator 30th May 2020 - 14th July 2022.
It was a blast being on staff. I stepped down as it's time for me to move on. I wish you all the best and if you were hit by my warnings and/or bans, it was nothing personal.
Peace out!
I thought if scammed through a contract action can be taken @Eagle 95

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. You can't prevent this scam from happening but you can prevent further scams from happening by that user. SE is a powerful tool and not only dumb people fall for it.

Okay we close the guy and what? He makes a new account, purchases leet and has a fresh start. If we leave his account, anyone in the right mind would notice the dispute(s) and not deal with him.

If a notable member went on a scamming spree, they would be closed fairly quickly.
OP you’re probably going to get closed...
also OP you said you didn’t want a refund from the guy? I also do see you continually harassing him, either take the refund and move on, or refuse the refund and stop harassing him lol???
Also on the topic of a high uber member who exit scams, it’s probably been planned all along, close them and they will just start over again, the cycle will continue until members decide to do the due diligence before dealing, and use a middleman with any deal you cannot bare to lose.

It will make the hassle for them to scam bigger though? They'll have to go through the process again.

To get back to this point, I think you should read this.
Deal Disputes and Scam Reports
Quote:"Please understand that we can't get your money back or force a member to complete a deal. Do not PM staff. Our staff on occasion will ban a scammer, if the evidence is on site and apparent."
So it's not always that Staff banns a member, but "on occasion". I think all you can do is just provide as much proof as possible, report the user and wait.

You're very adamant about having me punished. Indirectly harassing me is still a form of harassment pal. The staff doesn't care about your money. The docs make that very clear. Get over yourself.

If you scammed OP, you should refund him. If he's harassing you, you should report him. Simple as that.
I dislike harassing members as much as I dislike scammers, so don't complain and just take action. Same for OP.

I did nothing wrong. However, the harassment will be reported. He replies to all my threads, follows me around the forum, getting old. Will be writing up my report shortly.

So you did pay OP the promised amount of money by PayPal in exchange for his BTC? If so, report him, if not, refund him.
