Living Robots Built Using Frog Cells

I found this article the other night and found it really interesting: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20...175653.htm

University of Vermont Wrote:Scientists repurposed living frog cells -- and assembled them into entirely new life-forms. These tiny 'xenobots' can move toward a target and heal themselves after being cut. These novel living machines are neither a traditional robot nor a known species of animal. They're a new class of artifact: a living, programmable organism.

Check out the full page. I find stuff like this fascinating. We as humans continuously push the boundaries of science and nature to come up with extraordinary achievements such as this.

Essentially these creatures are programmable living tissue. While the scientists in this experiment sourced their living cells from frogs I would assume that other organisms can be used for the base cells. These "xenobots" are said to be about a millimeter wide and have a some cool abilities such as moving towards a target, pick up a payload, and heal themselves after being cut. A potential use case for these new creatures could be to travel through arteries scraping out plaque or very specified medicine delivery. While these creatures are composed of living tissue they were designed prior in a supercomputer and are indeed programmable.

We are slowly erasing the line between humans and machines. Thoughts?

I hope one day they make women robots this way
Interesting but scary at the same time, every new discovery or invention could pose a threat
by way of things being overlooked, or power in the wrong hands.

Some of the worst things imaginable have been done with the 'best intentions.'

haha well ye i guess.. science is so sick man.. and the best things that will be made.. only rich people will have access to it
Comon Xerotic Wrong forum smh

Yes this is very unethical, if they can do this with frog cells whats stopping them to do it humans, for a T-1000

I wonder which person said "Let's try a frog" That must be wild. It's cool, but is that not scary?

Same. I don't like frogs but at the same time it's an interesting choice.
I used to sell nice stuff on HF.

These days all I can offer you are my services as a software engineer and as a Spanish teacher. The later is a hobby I still enjoy.

Pm if interested.
Pretty interesting how science is evolving. Here's a video showing essentially the same thing:

Regardless, if these 'bots' can be used to clean plaque from veins and deliver drugs to the most critical of places, imagine all the lives they could save.

Fascinating, this sort of technology will definitely shape the future.
I actually seen this on Instagram on a page I follow a couple days ago (@freedom_faction)

I don't think a sex doll would be interested in spending the night with you.

OT: That's insane! I always wonder how they figure stuff like that! Oh yeah, let's just take this lil frog here and cut the bastard up and boom, lil robots. Absolutely mad.

Maybe one day you’ll get a life and look back at your trolling as the cry for help that it always has been.
Curse you, Bayle! I hereby vow! You will rue this day! Behold, a true Drake Warrior! And I, Igon! Your fear made flesh! Solid of scale you might be, foul dragon … But I will riddle with holes your rotten hide! With a hail of harpoons! With every last drop of my being!
I wonder if some of the members in the coding section are robots built using living frog cells.
