I found this article the other night and found it really interesting: https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20...175653.htm
Check out the full page. I find stuff like this fascinating. We as humans continuously push the boundaries of science and nature to come up with extraordinary achievements such as this.
Essentially these creatures are programmable living tissue. While the scientists in this experiment sourced their living cells from frogs I would assume that other organisms can be used for the base cells. These "xenobots" are said to be about a millimeter wide and have a some cool abilities such as moving towards a target, pick up a payload, and heal themselves after being cut. A potential use case for these new creatures could be to travel through arteries scraping out plaque or very specified medicine delivery. While these creatures are composed of living tissue they were designed prior in a supercomputer and are indeed programmable.
We are slowly erasing the line between humans and machines. Thoughts?

These tiny 'xenobots' can move toward a target and heal themselves after being cut. These novel living machines are neither a traditional robot nor a known species of animal. They're a new class of artifact: a living, programmable organism.
