Quote:In a sweeping move, Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey announced Thursday that her office has asked the court to dismiss nearly 66,000 marijuana convictions going back decades, CBS LA reported.

Quote:Those eligible include anyone 50 years of age or older, anyone who has not been convicted of a crime in the last 10 years, anyone with a conviction who successfully completed probation and anyone with a conviction under the age of 21.

What are your guy's thoughts on this? Personally, I see no problem with it. If it's legal, they shouldn't be in jail for it anymore.
Nope no problem, release them.
Wow that's a lot. Smart decision from them!

Yeah, it for sure is. I wonder if it could cause financial problems with the release of that many people at once.

California is already America's new shit hole, now lets let a bunch of felons out yay! I'm all for weed but the rule of law is much more important. This won't end up well.

Well it seems like they have set up nice rules for who gets released. So I would say go ahead. But they also need to clear their record maybe. Or at least help them find a well paying job.
Lovely.
I don't see anything wrong with it. Why would you stay locked up for doing something legal?

To completely contradict myself in my OP, I could see that they should have a reduced sentence or be on probation because it was illegal at the time and they were aware of themselves breaking a law.

I personally don't see anything wrong with it, but I could understand if they don't want them out.
Honestly we need to evaluate something... they still committed a crime. Thankfully the monetary investment from the Cannabis industry is so supreme that this is possible. But you do not hear about Speeding Tickets being dismissed on roads that increased the speed limit. I agree that the law should have never been there in the first place... but we cannot refute the fact that it was and the individual still willingly broke it; maybe we just question.. to what degree?

Agreed cannabis is 🍕🍕🍕 to me on a level imagine being locked up for it
Gotta make space for the new criminals with more serious cases!
66,000 souls locked in a room because of weed what a world we live in

I'm happy you told it, because i just can agree with you, without having to translate my thoughts to English :)
