Not sure if this is still relevant but no that's not how it works. You can use adblock but just make sure you enabled the brave reward and be in the region that advertisers are pushing out a shit ton of ads. The ads you received are not from the websites you visit but from the browser itself(brave servers). It just sends you notifications of ads while you browse. So basically what brave wants to do is make advertisers pay to advertise through their browser instead of placing ads on different websites 🤣 hope that makes sense. Monopolizing ads is how I see it

Correct, you will need to make sure brave can send desktop notifications and also quiet hours/focus assist is off.

Any brave linked sites / new tab page can trigger ads.
