Graphics Processor

Sapphire RX 580 Pulse or GTX 1070 SC?

So I'm looking to upgrade my GPU because my card (Sapphire R9 280x 3GB) is getting a little outdated to run games at max settings. Anyway, I've been looking around local listing and I could get an RX 580 8gb for around $100-120, OR a GTX 1070 SC Gaming 8GB GDDR5 for around $200-225. I really don't game THAT much anymore, but I enjoy messing around with Skyrim mods and it would be fun to have some more breathing room to play with and not sacrifice framerate.

My current build:
Sapphire R9 280X 3GB
Intel i5-4590 3.3GHz
8 GB RAM

What do you guys think? Feel free to throw in any suggestions! My current monitor's resolution is 1920x1080p. Super bulky, I hate it but it's what I got. I'm all ears for any other cards within that price range. I would prefer to save money, but RX 580 seems a little old and I don't want to upgrade that soon so I'm considering biting the bullet and going with the 1070.

I also figured it was worth mentioning some games I play are GTA V and Skyrim but plan on getting into Red Dead 2 and maybe some Far Cry once I upgrade. However, I am really looking forward to GTA VI and the next Elder Scrolls although that won't be for a while. It would be cool to not upgrade again, but I probably will have to by that generation of games.

Considering you only intend to play on 1080p, and you're running a 4590,you don't really need a 1070, and then again, if it tops at $225 and is in good condition, the by all means go for it, keep in mind that you'll probably have to upgrade the cpu as well as it might bottleneck something like the 1070, one more thing, if you're not in a hurry, i'd say wait a little bit more as the rtx 3000 and next gen radeon series are coming soon, so you might get more value out of your money

My monitor is actually 1920x1200 my mistake. I went with the 1070 for $225. Really happy with the purchase. I think I'll upgrade CPU later, looking at usage with 3.3ghz it doesn't really pass 50% much.
