Doesn't sound like you have PTSD, just sounds like you have a childhood fear that you've never confronted.

Anything thats a recurring fear could be considered ptsd. Also anything that triggers a fear could be considered ptsd as well. (Jun 26, 2020 08:20 PM)Simplex Wrote: That's really scary. Water is something that needs to be taken seriously. I don't have any real things that would trigger ptsd. Be thankful homie. It doesnt bother me as much these days but, when I get near a pool the thought always comes up. (Jun 26, 2020 08:56 PM)Goods Wrote: If you ever need an ear homie, I got you. When I was younger and learning to ride a bike my dad told me that if I fell off I'd need to get right back on, otherwise I'd be allowing fear to control my decision making.
So, most things that happened to me growing up that scared me I made sure to do again (obviously nothing life threatening, but yeah). I think maybe the most life threatening thing I did was get knocked out racing dirt bikes. The first guy who got to me said he thought I was dead until he heard me snoring, lol. After coming back to I then went back to our spot and took a long nap under the ez-up we had there (which I know now is something you should not do after being concussed). I went into full anaphylactic shock, airways closed up, and was one foot out the door. Elevators.. I hate them elevators.. My sister and I got stuck in an elevator when I was very young. I think we were stuck in about 1 hour, but in that one hour, our small undeveloped brains for sure thought we were going to die, Lol. I don't think you can call it PTSD, but I'm always avoiding elevators if I can. (Jun 25, 2020 11:54 PM)Goods Wrote: I had an allergic reaction to a chemical in the pool. I've had a couple things I can think of off top
hit in the head with a golf club, top of my head had a giant hole in it that my dad literally could (and had to) stick his whole hand in with a shirt wrapped around to stop blood loss, almost died. when my brother died I remember being awake at 4 am when it happened for no reason (just knew something was wrong) and having a panic attack hearing my mom on the phone panicking and struggling to breathe, I just knew something was bad and I can re-hear that shit in my head (Jun 25, 2020 11:54 PM)Goods Wrote: I had an allergic reaction to a chemical in the pool. A friend of mine broke his arm in a fatal injury when he had a nasty crash during biking competition, i can't seem to get the image off my head till now, always scared of bikes now....

So he actually died from the injury? Im confused because the death would give me more ptsd than the broken arm.
Im brown and desi kids dont get PTSD, we get proper beatings from parents and siblings so PTSD is like a trip to an amusement park for us. jk
