Your interactions become an attribute of censorship, and you grow concious of every possible way your words could later be manipulated or the context of your actions skewed. Freedom of expression erodes, as does the self. I would advise all HF members interested in building an infosec career to consider the adoption of your pseudonymity holistically, as your current threat model may significantly change later on in life. They would have finger printed you anyway eventually... You are free to manipulate their little data analytics algorithms though.

This was one of the best threads I have read in a very long time, it actually made me smile :)
6 years, myself and some of these stories are very familiar. nokia2mon2 really resonates with me. Why do I remember him. His name has a very vivid imprint in my brain and I can not think of why but I am fairly certain it was not because of the reasons you state. I wish there were more threads like this reminiscing over things that have happened on HF. Please, any more details on nokia2mon2 would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure I remember his name for a reason! Thank you for your post it was a great read :) Kind Regards, - Dodgygeez EDIT: I've decided to add some things that I can remember. I have a bad memory and these aren't amazing but just memories I had. Aura Offering free whitehat help to everyone recommending the best anti-virus/anti-malware software tailored to your needs. He was extremely helpful to everyone, free of charge, expecting nothing back. I really respected him for that. He also specialised in virus removal etc... A great person who contributed positively to HF. Random guy[b]. I can't remember the name but he used to livestream his drug experiences on HF. I remember he took a huge dose of LSD on stream and everyone got to see his... Yeah. He got naked on camera to the whole of HF and everyone was saying it was really small but obviously he was on a massive dose of psychadelics. [b]Legion I'm not sure why but I really thought he was a bad-ass. I thought this because he offered crazy services like grade modification and providing legit services like DVLA alteration and wiping criminal records and crazy things like that. I do not know if these were for certain but he had many vouches and people loved his services. Walter White A very active member in the community. I always thought he was very respectable and knowledgable in many different things. Until he scammed someone for a knife. The same person who created a thread I really enjyoed and I have had it bookmarked for 3 years. He then went on to scam a few others but he is still active to this day! Nowadays he just posts in the drugs forum and talks about drugs all of the time. I used to really look up to him for some reason. Here is the thread that I really enjoyed: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=4317868 Omni's RF's I always LOVED seeing someone get RF'd by Omni and all the memes alongside it. I also loved when we could write our own messages when repping. I used to LOVE digging through rabbit holes in reps. Sometimes you would go on a very long adventure and even puzzling interactive rep games. I also have loads of screenshots which I can not retrieve because the links have died and they are not on any archive sites :( Such as shame. Thanks for reading if you have read!
Nice post man! Sounds ALOT of very good moments share in our beloved HF website! =))
I hope I'll share some great moments like this.. ^^

11 year old gang showing up to say hellooooooo'
WAIT WTF Nokia was Saud al-Qahtani???? AHAH What the fuck
Blackshades was a big thing back in the day, I do remember everyone jumping on Omni about it spreading rumours he was an informant. Black shadow was annoying, he just spoke rubbish most of the time.
A lot has changed since then. Some great memories for sure over the years though. I honestly never understood why people kept buying his scripts. There was a huge discussion/debate about how real her sexuality is, HF was divided into 2 groups. I just remember her becoming a big meme, so big that users started changing their names to eve #2 and #3 (including me.) I remember her uploading a faceless selfie while holding a paper with her HF username on it, too. Not one I remember. Still, wouldn't surprise me if it was some skid dude from the e-whoring section. The link between his HF handle and his identity was confirmed shortly after the Khashoggi drama. He was the President and Chairman of the Saudi Federation of Cyber Security, Programming, and Drones (SAFCSP), so his former occupation of HF and other hacker communities isn't entirely unsurprising. Agreed, but instead of making it sound complicated by using industry slang try to explain risk mitigation in a way that the normal young adult would be able to understand. In a nutshell, as we continue into big data analytics and fingerprinting it will only become more viable (it's already incredibly reliable). We can only mitigate this risk it's impossible in this day and age to eliminate it. This is why we push the idea of 1 password and 1 username per site. It's why we push the idea of changing your typing patterns, changing likes and dislikes, and in general the only way to be even questionably good at hiding your inner most personal affiliations is to never use the internet. Since that's not really a rational. The best we can do is to try and make it easy for people to understand what a psudoname is and is not.
