My suggestion is to have a feature that can archive the post instead of deleting it for later usage. All those archived posts can easily go to drafts.
The way it can be done now is making a draft before deleting the post or save a draft, post another copy then eventually if you want later to archive it you can delete and still have a copy in the drafts.
I hope I'm not the only one who sees the feature as useful.

For example, I made a post in a group application thread, and due to not having time let's say, or any other reason I wanted to archive temporarily the post/application because the owner didn't make his decision yet anyways.

Hmmm. Any use case when I don't want to permanently delete the post. Let's say a temporary % discount on products but I guess I just edit. Seems like this would be only useful for non vendor members because they don't have unlimited edits.

We offer forum stickies and sales tags for increased edits for threads. Use those.

Yes seems like wasn't such a good idea after all, considering people might abuse it.
You know how they say no idea is stupid maybe just inappropriate for the current case.
