I had some money left on my BTC address that is linked with the Block chain.
Today I tried to buy something on the internet. When I saw the fee, I was shocked. WTH!
Is there any way to reduce the fee amount? This is ridiculous.
First, stop using blockchain wallet because it doesn't support Segwit. And currently fees are super high so that's for pretty much everyone.

Click customize fee on the bottom right > reduce the amount and prepare to wait 6-24 hours +
Or if you have access > swap to ETH > send ETH.

There is a congestion in the mempool. The line for transactions to be processed is getting longer. People are impatient so they are paying more to skip the line and go to the front. The more people that do this, the longer the line gets and the more expensive it is to be at the front of the line.

Anything you would recommend? I personally use blockchain as well and I am not really big into the crypto world. Just read up on Segwit and might just switch up if there is a nice replacement available 😁

Go to your Blockchain wallet and exchange your BTC to ETH/LTC (or something else) and pay that way.

Just use Electrum.

Every other service I know of at this point can send to bc1q addresses, Blockchain.com is truly obsolete.
Im a regular BTC user, i been using Blockchain for years for its simplicity and clean design, straight to the point, but after this situation i realized i need a change

I was gonna do a $2 transaction and the fee was $10
Thank you guys, for the solution and suggestions. Let me swap my amount to ETC.

You should try ETH before ETC.

As Omni said, sooner you stop using Blockchain wallet to store good amount of money, that's better for you.
But if you wanna get those funds out of your blockchain wallet, don't be in a hurry and wait for the TX Fees to get normalized.

The reason why you have BTC was that many places on the internet accept it. The next best is ETH, just because ETC has a lower fee means nothing. There is a reason why there are empty blocks and low fees... because no one uses it.
