The deposit is to allow people an ample amount of time to get ready for genesis there is no monetary incentive.

The depositors' validators will get going if there is enough ETH deposited on December 1st Genesis of ETH 2.0 shall commence. That will be the point in which there is reward the incentive you're likely seeking. You can read through this

Sweet. So in theory if I was to want the staking rewards I'm best off doing it on Nov 30th, incase there is any bugs in the contract until then.

You could do that unlikely there are any contract bugs as it's been used on multiple testnets and under the scrutiny of the best developers/community around the world. What I suggest for anyone jumping in just try out the Medalla testnet, this will give you an identical feel of what is to come.

Everyone knew that phase 0 launching in 2020 wasn't going to support trading it was clearly stated by developers and the roadmap. The fool had no idea of that either when I embarrassed him.

1. The word genesis means beginning. People just want to be a part of the beginning. You can join in anytime afterward, you just won't be known as a genesis validator aka bragging rights.
2. Miners will likely deposit to become validators and hodlers will just continue as they will normally. This is the beginning of the end of mining. If you don't plan to stake 32 ETH nothing for now.

Thanks, Shreder. If I decide to stake now or in the near future I will not be able to transfer/withdraw my ETH from the contract for a long time (nearly 2 years), is that correct? Like many others I'm expecting a bull market next year and plan to sell part of my ETH so staking is kind of not an option, right?
