The mayor of my area just announced that he will not be shutting any businesses down because that will not help stop the community spread of covid. This comes after he announced that businesses must not have more than 30% of their full capacity. Why? COMMUNITY SPREAD. I'm from a place that is heavily populated with tourists. These tourists love to sightsee and contribute to community spread. Our mayor's solution? Restrict residents from living so that the tourists can be accommodated. I can't with this fucking moron.
Please tell me there are states doing it right! Or wrong. Just tell me how this whole thing is being handled in your county.
Unpopular opinion but i'm from cali and everything's closed which I find to be bullshit. Let people work and people make their own decisions on if they want to go out to eat at a restaurant or not. I don't personally see how sitting with your "group" at a table puts you at any more risk of contracting covid than anything else.
My country is going overboard. We will get 2 cases in a state in one day and they close all the borders between and you need permits.
We're lucky in the fact we don't have many cases.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER

My wife works at a restaurant and she deals with a lot of idiots. People who refuse to wear a mask just because, people who spit all over the floors just because, people who claim they live with their party of 20 just because, etc. This is an everyday thing she has to deal with. It's not just getting covid, it's giving it.

Yeah maybe, all our cases come from internationals coming in though. They need a harder international border with better quarantine practices rather than making life difficult for the whole country who are doing the right thing.

It just makes me sad that big cooperations with money get to stay open while mom and pops close the doors

Unless there is a limit on how many tourist visit per day then it is a shitty decision.
Boris Johnson.... I don’t even want to start on him

Sorry to hear that mate, hope he'll get his shit together and make some good decisions for his residents and not just think about the tourists...
I live in a country were everyone is doing what they pleased; its very sad that and actually some of my coworkers already die of Covid :(

Most people survive COVID. Unless you're really old or just a very unhealthy person then I wouldn't worry much. I say let people work, social distance and wear masks and maybe only allow 50% capacity but these businesses are starving and need to open up.
It's the same shit different smell everywhere it seems. I tend to ignore all of this bs since I work outdoors all day, away from people.
