Has anyone here gotten arrested for a cyber crime what was your experience? What did you do? What happened? (No wannabes please)

I've seen some interesting stories on the forum after the years of being on here but personally I haven't been arrested or taken in for questions... I never really got deep into hacking and haven't made myself a target

Unfortunately I feel like there won't be many people here to tell stories since people with cyber crimes typically have to stay away from electronics for a while after release.

I broke into the online grading system the last day of the year and randomized everyone's grade.  I got caught later through an investigation with the local police and got kicked out.  I'm looking for the real bad boys 😗

That was a long time ago haha, I end up taking a liking to business and have a pretty good thing going

I had federal police come and get me from my place of work. No charges were officially made after an interview.

Not quite.

They called my boss to ask if I was working then he gave me a tip-off they were coming. Two detectives in a blacked-out SUV showed up at our building site and I had an interview on-site. I was then allowed to go home and had to meet them at headquarters in the city for an officially recorded interview.

Not arrested, but we had police come into my school to question me about things I'd done to our intranet and school website. This is the 2000s when it was super easy to breach and change things, so I was just honest and said I'd done XYZ and thought it would be a funny prank. They were mostly okay with it and essentially said "show us what you did so it can't be done again and stop your nonsense" but they did have a proper go at me for posting on one teacher's page that he had a tiny piece and that his wife preferred donkeys or something equally juvenile, they said I had shown great skill and determination, but also a great deal of immaturity haha.

The first policeman that spoke to me though was a real dick, I knew he was lying but he kept trying to freak me out saying I was facing life in jail for computer crimes, and that I'd be in debt to the school for the rest of my life. I distinctly remember him looking me up and down and saying "this is your last day free if you don't play your cards right lad" and I burst out laughing because it was just so funny and such bullshit, but he really didn't like that lol
