Hello there.
Just a little night thinking.
As it is night where I stay atm.
Have the corona virus affected your life in any negative way?
Let me tell you how it affected my life.
I lost my driver license over 1.5 year back because of speed.
Then I obviously started taking my driver license again. But when I was about to finish corona came, that means I successfully waited over 1 year to get my driver license back because they closed all the schools where you can take a driver license here in my country.
Otherwise, it held me away from go drinking at clubs with friends, which in the end probably is pretty healthy.
What about you people?
Believe it or not it actually benefited my life big time. Long story short, I was working a horrible warehouse job hard ass labor, many 16 hour nights for a wage that was not matching up with how hard the labor was.
BUT, these assholes were not following any covid protocols, they were allowing covid positive employees to come to work so I quit and was able to collect. Found a much better deal job with much better pay and here I am now.
If it wasn’t for covid I wouldn’t of had the balls to quit that shit hole.

Congratulations! I’m glad that corona helped some people out as well! I mean you should really just have left that job a long time ago. And I am not surprised they didn’t give a single f about corona restrictions. Not many work places did that here either.

Bruh. My girlfriend called her boss to tell her that I had corona. And she works at a nursing home. The boss said “ just be careful and take circumstances then it’ll be fine “

I like that you had the balls to admit that.
I liked that Covid meant that I was allowed to just do stupid bureaucratic stuff online or on the phone that I never should have had to run around town meeting people to do in the first place.
The only way it really affected me negatively is that my first cousin died of Covid in New York which is horrible. Especially because she wasn't even elderly and had a little girl. Now her father has to raise her on his own.
I did not care about not getting to do things I only cared about getting groceries for my family without going out which was really hard because of not having that many places in my city that did delivery and they would get booked out. Basically you had to stay up until 1 in the morning to grab slots and sometimes you'd still miss out.

This doesn't make sense in English. What does "take circumstances" mean?

I’m sorry buddy.
English is not my native language.
I mean like, taking distance to the older people, wearing a mouth thing, and all those

Jesus Christ.
I mean, in the end a lot of those companies probably ended up earning a fortune on COVID 19. Then you can talk about getting the best of the worst.

Oh yeah the grocery stores with delivery must have made a fortune and also I'd end up buying too much and stuff I maybe didn't want because when a slot came open you had to rush like mad to fill your cart before the slot closed and you couldn't complete your order and were locked out.
And there wasn't much fun you could buy at an online grocery store and I was going to buy a Simpson's comic for my little boy for a treat but then got a message the government had banned all magazines and newspapers for fear Covid carried on paper which they eventually realised it doesn't. We had really strict lockdowns here. Takeaways were banned too and you couldn't get anything by mail other than "essential items" and packages you bought before lockdown you didn't get unless they were marked essential like you could only get soap and toilet paper and masks and not much else. So an item I'd purchased before the lockdown I got ten weeks late.

Yeah.
I made a bit of money on drop shipping in the start of corona myself. I even remember some people having a problem with me earning money on covid 19. But for real, I don’t get anything wrong about earning money on it.
Unless you had the right of vaccines and demanded money for it or something.

Aside from the job market, COVID hasn't had any tangibly negative impact on my life. Even then, the job market was shit before COVID. So I guess it might not have had much influence there for me either.

I’m always so surprised when people write this. Because in the country where I am from and lives in, it’s incredibly easy to get a job that also pays a good amount of money.
Then I hear from other people from other countries that their job opportunities absolutely suck.
Did you find a good job?

It's more to do with the field I work in. Marketing is a field flooded with sales positions disguised as marketing positions. At least in the US. If it isn't a sales position disguised as marketing, it's a grossly underpaid position for the qualifications they're demanding. Then if it isn't either of those, it's a social media management position. Then on the rare occasion you find an actual marketing position with decent pay and benefits that doesn't have their standards set to the moon, it's so extremely competitive.

Hm wouldn’t it be possible for you to start up by yourself? Offer some local companies to control their social media’s and help them for x amount of $ a month?
I started my own company back in 2019.
Best thing I ever did for myself. This is where the real money to be made are.
(Jul 17, 2021 05:43 PM)Panik Wrote: It was half and half for me. It caused a lot of issues for my company which resulted in me running multiple verticals at once without proper resources or compensation. I ended up leaving because of it and didn't have a job for a few months. That was nice, just chilled out, went fishing, went out to the bar and fugged around (we didn't really abide by the lockdown shit). Ended up with a much better org and role so it all worked out.
The negative side is the after effect imo. Scared liberals doing scared liberal shit is making my life hard.
Ah man I understand the feeling so much.
Luckily the virus only helped me getting more clients actually. I’m a developer, and suddenly everybody wanted online webshops to sell from that corona was here,
It’s always nice with a bunch of time off and to do what you want, but at one point it starts being an issue. You miss work, you getting bored at home and so on. At least that’s how I feel, I get more stressed from not doing shit, than I do from doing a lot of shit
