[Confession] I've contacted journalists to feed them false information

I hate journalists. I think they're the scum of the earth and add zero value to society as a whole. They contribute to division, they contribute to fear, they're liars, they're swine, they put sensationalism over facts, and that is why, I prowl twitter and whenever one of these people report on some sort of local hate crime or whatever, I'll email them from an email unrelated to me and on a VPN, and I'll give them some bullshit story about how I am somehow involved in whatever they're reporting on. I'll make up names, I'll make up events, etc. I do this because if they choose to report it, and use my false information, when that info is found out to be false it destroys what credibility they have left as yellow journalists.

I've probably done this to 2 or 3 journalists so far.

It's probably the most diabolical thing I've done in recent years. I've also thought about using a certain website that connects journos with sources and doing it to them there too.

I can't stand them.
This made me laugh but it’s evil dude. Let them do their job. It puts food on their table.

Instead of false reporting, help them with right info ( if you can). Destroying reputation of someone for personal satisfaction is not good.

If you think that journalists earn their merit by posting the truth, you're completely wrong.

It has nothing to do with whether or not what they say is true. It has to do with viewer engagement. Even if its completely 100% false, you're just endorsing their current justification for lying, which is 'WELL WE DIDNT KNOW ANY BETTER!!!'

If they can't fact check that Sam Hyde didn't commit a school shooting and they report that, and people see they're reporting fake news, it doesn't matter if they say they didn't know better. Their job is literally to fact check before reporting.

The media has doxed people before. There's no way I'm letting them off because it's just their job.

If people got cancelled or lost credibility for blatant misinformation, most of the media would not exist. You are just feeding the fire. Obviously they could care less who believes them or not as long as they can stir up an initial reaction.

This is evil but I can't blame you, journalists disgust me as well. I'd work anything else rather than contributing to division, fear, hatred.

And to clarify, it's not like I do this to journos who are trying to write feel good stories about puppies or something. These guys are contributors to what makes the world so shitty.

I feel you man, we share the same opinion.
Well it’s sorta their fault for not fact checking or confirming who you are

A lot of them only care about user interaction and views, not about writing truthful articles.

Which is why this works so well

Not yet. In one, the person who did what they were writing about was caught before I could answer any follow up questions. The other, the person thanked me for my info and I never followed up on the story.
Journalists may contribute to spreading information across the world, if you "help" them the wrong way, you sort of become a journalist yourself then, if I accord to your view of what they are.

Rudyard Kipling wrote a great poem called the "The Beginnings," you might have heard of it by the name "The Wrath of the Awakened Saxon."

Quote:It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

They were not easily moved,
They were icy -- willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not suddenly bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate

The point being, by providing misinformation to the media and then pointing it out when they use it, you help speed up the breeding of hate for the MSM in the average person.
