Leadership isn't just about being able to tell people what to do, from my experience.

Leadership is really about being "the boss" while also being approachable. You work with your team while also have an attitute that shows you aren't afraid of having to sanction members of the team when they aren't holding up their part of the responsibility.
Seems like some bullshit copy-pasted from an "alpha male mentality" Instagram page. These go a long way but won't make someone willingly follow you.

Somewhat related: the USAF's Weapon School is where people become experts on USAF capabilities (cyber, planes, etc). Their motto is "humble, approachable, credible". Nail those three and you'll see a much better return than any of these cheap social tricks.

Thanks OP. After reading your comprehensive guide, I have successfully became a man in charge.
Look, a lot of what I use comes from Charisma on Command.

Unbreakable eye contact is the most important thing.

Sounds like a creepy dude you're describing, if I'm being honest.

'Unbreakable eye contact' is creepy. What a man in charge should actually have is the ability to listen, and identify other people's strengths. If someone wants to 'be in charge' they should be an astute chairman, not arrogant and oblivious like el presidente of a banana republic in the 1970s.

Whatever the fuck a hero posture is, I'm losing all respect for someone the second they bust that shit out on me while trying to be in charge. You want to be in charge? Prove that you're someone worth respecting.

But what if you're not worth respecting? Asking for me. I got the 'hero posture' down though, I man-spread like Carl Weathers recording a hologram to the Mandolorian, my legs are so wide apart that my plums start swinging like the pendulum in a grandfather clock.

Was Army not Airforce but this hits true. Any leader that just wanted to be an alpha male and was always talking to you as if you were property and not a person we’re not respected as a leader. You wouldn’t go to them with any problems because you perceive that they don’t care.
Approachable, and willing to help goes an insane distance to anyone that is working under you. You may be in charge of this person but that doesn’t mean you have to treat them any different.
