4 killed in shooting at Tulsa medical building; shooter dead

Police responded to the call about three minutes after dispatchers received desperate calls for help and made contact with the gunman roughly five minutes later.
Police Captain Richard Meulenberg mentioned that multiple people were wounded and the medical complex was a "catastrophic scene".

In contrast the length of time it took police officers in Uvalde, Texas, to engage the gunman  at Robb Elementary School has become a key focus of that investigation.

Something needs to be done about gun laws in us.

It's already illegal to kill people what exactly do you think banning guns would even do when there are hundreds of millions of them in circulation?

Thank god you are educated on guns brother. So many people thinking taking the guns away from normal people is gonna keep them out of the hands of people who just dont give a shit. lol

That poster didn't say "ban guns" they said "something needs to be done about gun laws in the USA. I personally feel like things are too out of hand for a few more laws here and there to do a lot of good. Some countries have had buy back programs for guns considered excessively high powered, but I really don't know enough about guns to know what is even valid along those lines, so I won't comment much on that except to say I don't think Biden is proposing coming after everyone's guns? Just certain types of guns? Other people can explain this more to me if they want that's just an impression I had. I haven't lived in the USA since I was 8 years old so not there to know what all is going on with Biden talking about this.

Banning some guns is still banning guns. I don't see how what you are saying isn't a ban. Any restriction that prevents certain people from acquiring guns is a ban on guns, just for some specific group. The reality is there are in excess of 400 million guns in the US. It is logistically completely impossible to round them up even if citizens were willing to give them up, which they are not.

The reality is there is quite literally nothing that law makers can do to reduce gun violence aside from addressing the underlying issues. Any law that focuses on guns is a failure from the start. There are thousands of gun laws on the books already. Which one of those has done anything to help?

Banning will be a step in right direction. Confiscation can as well commence. With we could achieve our goal. Not doing anything is wrong

This is true, it won't be like Australia. However in the smaller cities in the US some township police departments have gun buyback programs. Obviously this would only work for those who no longer want their guns.

I do believe that there should be some sort of harsher penalty for those who have their weapons stolen from them that are used in crimes where there is serious bodily harm/death. I personally know of a few friends who don't even secure their firearms properly which makes them an easy target for theft. I wonder what's the number for how many guns are stolen but not reported and end up being used in a crime. Granted most of the recent shootings involved LEGALLY purchased firearms, but that's just my opinion.
I think 18 year olds should not be allowed to obtain a licence and buy a gun.

Although it won't be completely preventive, the extra steps needed may deter them from getting one.

Stock alone is a deterrent, I've got two on pre order. 1 common basically default gun that every story carries and another I would call "exotic". Exotic in the sense of being high-end and unnecessary but not excessive in terms of caliber, it's basically just a 9mm.

95.7% of mass shooters are male. Just make it illegal for men to buy guns. 🤣

I kid. I kid. Don't shoot me.

So if we banned guns already, this wouldn’t have happened?

We shouldn't comment on this news at all because of how much you love guns?
