Making post numbers visible again

Hello. Quick suggestion about post numbers.

Few months ago we were able to view the post number for each post on every threads in the corner at right of quicklove button. Then it was changed for the orange "Share" button.

My suggestion is making the post number visible again. It would be easier for contest hosters to find out who is the winner.

Today was the second time I won a contest and the hoster sent the prize to the wrong guy.
Are you referring to Yuno 's contest? Sometimes members start with 1 or 2, in your case it was 2, so Prettykitty did win in that case. Reason why some start with number 2 is to not count the OP's post. Hope this makes sense. 👍

This is also a great way to pick winners if anyone is reading this in the future https://wheelofnames.com/

This user did have the winning post number and the contest host was wrong.

Yup that's true. Contest holders should just stick to using 1:number instead of 2 to not confuse things. 👍

It makes zero difference what the roll range is if you are going by post numbers. Safe to assume this was meant to be by post numbers unless the host intentionally screwed the first person entering.
I agree the post number should be somewhere. I just ain't figured out where yet.
yeah pretty much all forums have their post number listed, was curious why HF didn't but didn't think it was that much of a big deal
I buy Amazon Gift Cards & Crypto for CashApp. PM me if you're selling
I’m not sure how these contest rules work, but I decided to roll 2:136 so it would exclude my initial post for the contest. I didn’t know there was such a feature to allow you to see post numbers. I have already sent the prize. In the future I know now to include every post including mine. Sorry for the confusion and inconvenience Trumppp

That's a decent way to do it.

But also, you can view the list of "who posted" and do a random drawing from that list if your thread is one entry per member.

I should probably write up a plugin to do drawings in a thread.
If you click share, you can see the post number.

Issue is that you already didn't count OP, but not only that, you also ignored the first reply with the way you counted it.
you did a 2:236 which would've been good enough if you used counted OP and used the post numbers, but then you started counting from 1 to 5 to find the post starting the first reply. Which meant, Eran 's reply was totally out of range of winning.

No need imo the contest Host simply mixed 2 ways if picking winners which caused this error.
We barely had similar problems so afaik.
