For now I got a little amount of BTC. I have lost a lot the past few months and hoping somehow btc will come back on its greatness. If you want to keep it as savings than divide it up into stablecoins like USDT and BUSD. These are the safest options as btc price may fluctuate wildly. If you dont need the money in the short term, then keeping it as btc might be beneficial and you can just convert to a stablecoin when btc price goes up.
You can hedge by opening a 1x short on your positions and holding the rest in your own wallet.
I think sticking with the big names would be your best option here.
You could look at the overall graphs from some coins to find out which has been the most stable. However, I think it will always be somewhat of a risk to hold crypto. If you want to keep your crypto, hold crypto and hedge for stability (1x short on your spot holdings, withdraw spot holdings to your own wallet). Converting to stablecoin makes no sense unless you want to leave the market and re-enter later, but at this point, you may as well sell back to fiat and hold in t-bills.

USDC is always locked at $1 per share and offers 2% even a short can't destabilize it as it is a USD backed stable coin. Why not just buy US-backed treasury bills which currently offer ~4.7% instead of holding USDC with the risk of CEX bankruptcy? What is the purpose in this situation of holding USDC? USDC is a stable coin, he asked what crypto is good and stable. He didn't ask for the highest yield options for his money. Also... CXE and Binance will more than Likely never go anywhere. I KNOW FTX is scaring everyone but that site was a ponzi scheme since day one. Coinbase is or has gone public so they can't do that as easily as when you originally go public you must turn over everything to the stock exchange.

If you want to guarantee your savings, then open a 1-year Certificate of Deposit with Discover bank, or buy a US Treasury Bill like _daniel advised. Provide evidence of it being gimmicky, I'd like you to provide evidence to this argument please. Also binance can't be used by US CITIZENS which would mean he's not a US CITIZEN so his options of buying T-Bills or Bonds is slim, as he doesn't reside in the US. He would need an investor who holds a license in the US to buy them for him. |
