Members gave it value IMO. The price of bytes is determined by supply and demand.

I was the only one who suggested purchasing the bytes to save them for bumps. Which I would 100% do if I was being lazy and didn't want to earn them.

Thank you for this, can I also reccomend having a limit on the bump to once every 6 hours or 12 hours so the Byte lords of HF don't just spam their bumps as if it's a sticky ( especially with now the price reduction )

What the fuck are you even saying? Did you not read a thing I said? It has nothing to do with being LAZY it's about how difficult and unrealistic for the average user to make enough posts to even afford the 200 bytes a day. Please read before replying.

It has everything to do with being lazy. You could earn well over a thousand bytes per week if you truly wanted but you barely make one post per day. I can understand where your frustration is coming from now.

100 posts per week = 500-byte bonus granted on Monday, not including the bytes you're earning as you're posting or the eggs obtained that you can list in the lottery for even more bytes. Make a post in the daily check-in thread, that's another 25 bytes as well.

How is this going to "kill" the marketplace? You sell your script for a good price, so why not be a smart businessman and invest some profits into bytes? You already have free advertising on the forum. Purchasing bytes because you're too lazy to be active seems like a good investment.

So that maybe 50 cents worth of bytes (200). Are you saying that someone is in our Marketplace selling and the OPTIONAL 50 cents a day to do bumps isn't affordable?

If you're not making money in the Marketplace then it's time to stop selling and let others enter the market imho.

Bumps optional, I'm tired of the low quality posts to get free bumps. It is now solved. You don't have to like the solution.

More changes are coming, some you might like, some you may not. They are gonna happen anyways.
(Jan 17, 2023 06:48 PM)Yung Zel Wrote:  If you don't like low quality posts to get free bumps, why not make it just a flat 50 for everyone. Solves your issue, and it's affordable for everyone. Why would you want to cuff l33t sellers.. some who probably literally upgraded for the sole purpose to sell something and they're getting an extortionate price.

I know you're trying to downplay 50 cents for a bump on a marketplace thread isn't a lot but.. it kind of is.. something that SHOULD be next to free, and is only changed because you didn't like something as silly as people making new accounts/fake bumps. Just punish those people lol. Simple.

Thanks for your feedback. Please note that I'm not done making adjustments and changes to how our Marketplace works. I'm looking for a sweet spot. One that rewards Vendors but entices new members.

And maybe if you personally were spending time each and every day dealing with reports you might be more understanding. You don't see the low quality posts, because I delete them and often close accounts. So you think everything is just fine in the Marketplace, when it wasn't.

I find it unfair that some vendors buy stickies or bytes and others simply made low-quality posts. And when I went and warned people for those LQP bumps they got upset about it asking how are they suppose to bump their posts then.

I guess you're asking me to just stop giving a fuck. Just let everyone do whatever the fuck they want. Maybe that's how this will end up. I'll lose my shit and just give up and stop caring at all. Let everyone post "thanks" as many times as they want all over the forum and create as many accounts as the want, let everyone vouch for their buddies, and even get rid of the contract system. Maybe that's exactly what will happen.
(Jan 17, 2023 07:31 PM)Yung Zel Wrote:  I'm not meaning to fault you, I don't think it's a bad idea at all.

When you said you warned people for the LQP bumps, it sounds like the issue is with these members, not the system itself. The rules are pretty self explanatory, and anyone with a brain knows you can spend bytes to bump.

Sometimes it just feels like rather than punishing select few high activity members abusing site mechanics, you decide to just limit everyone, including those who weren't abusing any systems.

However, I do think bytes for bumps is a good system. I like the idea, but as an Ub3r, I see zero reason why I should get half a discount compared to a l33t member. I WANT people legit spending bytes 10 times a day bumping and fighting over it, but 100 ub3r and 200 l33t seems high and people won't fight over top spots (which I think would be a good thing).

My proposal would be 20-40 v3ndor, and 50-80 everyone else. Bumps should be free, and if not free, at least relatively easy to obtain earning your own bytes.

You say I'm limiting everyone. And here I thought I was just coming up with a fairer system that was idiot proof.

Please realize that too cheap on the bumps simply means a ton more entries into the database. I was again trying to find a sweet spot.

Alright, I'll follow your advice.

Vendor is 40 and everyone else is 80. Please let me know what else I need to do.

I meant affordable as in earned wise not purchasing. People shouldn’t be forced to purchase bytes to simply bump a thread because it’s not practical for them to earn it. Thank you very much for the change though, seems like it’s much better priced now.

When I count how many bumps before and after the price change. If there isn't an increase, I may have to raise the price. The point of lowering the price was so that it was used more. But if the same people are just going to do the same amount of bumps, then it's less of a Bytes sink. Already looks really bad.
is it just me or this new update made the whole section looks dead ?

Now Stanley doesn't actually post on thread in order to bump so it highlights the actual last post on the thread even if it is bumped.

I can see how that can appear there is no activity but threads are being bumped.
I will NEVER DM you first on Telegram/Discord

Always confirm you are talking with me on site using PM. Always use contract. I do not do currency exchange/gift cards/AGC.

unfortunately, with this recent update , we are now forced to bump our thread so it would appear in the "new post" section.
unlike before, we just use stanley to bump our threads so we don't need to post in there for our thread to be seen in the new post tab.

as a seller, we would love our threads to be seen here since most people browse using this tab

One of us is confused.

You saying before you used Stanley bumps so you didn't have to post.

Well that's how it is still. Except that Stanley doesn't post. You just use the Bump for Bytes feature and it will indeed bump, without a post. At least if you haven't changed the default sort order. Did you mess with that?

EDIT: Looking at your screenshot, I think you changed the default sort order that's why you're confused. Change it back to default and you'll see how the bump works.

sorry my english isn't that good . i apologize

i mean , stanley can bump the thread to the top . but what i mean is since stanley will not make a new post to bump the thread,
our threads won't appear in the "new post" section tab.
most users browse through here, and as a seller we would like our threads to appear there too

before was better, stanley bumps our thread and at the same time our threads would appear in the "new post" tab.
but now , stanley still be able to bump our threads and that's it. our threads wont be visible to the "new post" page.

our purpose of bumping our threads is not just to make the thread to the top of the section but to also make it appear in the "new post" page so lots of people can see it .
i hope i explained it clearly 😆

I see your point. My issue is that with the bumps the whole section just looked like Stanley was only active member. You're talking about the Search Results of New Posts button.

Not sure I'm going to change it though. I think members that click the New Posts want to actually see new posts. btw, you can still post in your threads if you want to get into the New Posts results. I am easing up on LQP warnings since the bumps are changed and sort order. I even lowered the min character limit to just 20. That's not to suggest you should post lqp constantly but if you want to see your thread in New Posts results, then make a new post.
