How do users charge Bytes and after payment from the viewer, they can view the content. I remember coming across this thread where I would have to pay Bytes to see the content, but I don’t know how? Or rather is my rank too low, because I am new to this community. Thank you :) 💯
What is the difference between thread and posts…
In order to add an attachment to a thread, you must be upgraded. https://hackforums.net/upgrade.php

Yep. There was too much abuse of the system going on with brand new accounts before, so Omni made it a upgraded feature only.

Thanks for clarifying for me!
Care to share any methods to earn Bytes faster?
I was thinking about releasing some valuable information I have with the community
For a fee, of course!

if a user set download attachment through bytes in a thread then only you have to pay byte to view the content.
els there is no restriction.
now lets answer your question. thread is a post where people wright about some topic, and other people comment there thoughts in that thread.
in short thread is a topic starter. but both you can say as post

Why not just donate to upgrade instead of using bytes. You can upgrade permanently.

Several reasons why that is a thing.
But yes, you need to upgrade.
then you can create a byte farm and get rich while you are asleep

Upgrade your account tho, the benefits are worth it.

as much as I would love to donate to upgrade or even support this forum.
I don’t exactly have such disposable dollars right now…

Then I have a hard time believing that whatever method you have to share is valuable or even yours to give in the first place.
2500 bytes is the equivalent of $6.25

I acknowledge your doubts about the value of my content.
As a new member in this community, without much experience, while I have heard from many members with their feedback that the upgrade is a good deal. I still wish to contribute to the community in a non-monetary way. My choice to not donate and use real money at this point in time, should not diminish the worth of my contributions.
I would potentially donate and put out some money to support the community, in the future.
If you’d like to engage with my content, great. If not, that’s cool too :)
Thank you!

I never said that donating was the only way to contribute to the community. I've been a part of it for well over a decade and contributed through guides, services, graphics, writing, news, wiki, donations, upgrades, stickies, events, products, you name it, it's been done, by myself and countless other members before and after I joined.
I'm not bashing you wanting to have an attachment available for purchase, it's why it is there.
But my suggestion, familiarize yourself with the community and the people in it, and then do it. As opposed to joining, violating policy and then trying to do it.
If you have a question about policy, check the Help Docs and the stickies in the various sections across the forum, posted by other contributing members of the forum past and present. If you still cant find your answer and you are uncertain about something, contact staff before doing it.
Knowing what is and isn't allowed makes the experience far more enjoyable than just blindly diving into it, as this is for the most part a community of long-term members.
Welcome to Hack Forums, hopefully the warnings from Genuine are the last ones we see on you for a long time.
Edit: Also, upgrading makes you eligible for limited events, such as this: https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6253481

I appreciate your advice and guidance.
I will certainly take the time to get better acquainted with the community, its policies, and its long-term members.
While my initial approach may not have aligned with the community’s norms, I am here to learn and contribute positively in my own way. Thanks for the warm welcome, and I look forward to being a part of this community :)
Thank you!
