What are your feelings on privacy.

Obviously if you are as old as I am and some of us that have been around the sun more than 30+ times. Privacy was a real thing back in the day. Obviously not so much anymore. Now we are using VPNs, Encrypted Emails (Protonmail/Lavabit) etc. but even those have limitations.

I personally think privacy on the Internet is a myth that will remain that way forever.

I have an imposter on Discord, Ask me to DM first.

Probably in some certain way everyone is in a database. If people really want privacy they shouldn't use the internet because it's for communication.
I personally love privacy, but being on the internet.. we are limited on what privacy we have, especially in the event you like to use popular software and apps, as they all collect massive amounts of data. I try and protect my privacy as much as humanly possible, but it's only so much one can do. Even just going out the house, you can't go into public without being on camera. It is what it is I suppose.
I agree privacy on the internet is a myth, it just depends who is coming after you. I also think its best to blend into the crowd rather than using obscure tools and stick out like a sore thumb.

Haha, precisely me when giving someone my email address and having to explain what "Proton Mail" is, or why they can only contact me over Signal messenger and not traditional SMS or WhatsApp. Certainly, I feel safe - but to any observer with a bit of knowledge and skill it might attract the wrong sort of attention.
Do you ever read Jaron Lanier? Feckin' love that guy, anyway, he says that Tim Berners-Lee quite innocently fucked us all by coming up with the www and the idea of 'one way' links where you just follow the breadcrumbs, clicky clicky clicky. Prior to that a guy called Ted Nelson (I think? I'm sure I should know), who is still alive as far as I know, propounded in the 60s on the idea of everything being linked to everything, internet links would be 'two way', so it would be more like a phone call than a letter, and you could see the provenance of everything.

Long way of saying, I think that Jaron Lanier's point is that one of the major problems facing the world is the illusion of privacy. I believe a quote of his is something like "If you're not paying for the product, then you are the product".

I feel so sorry for young people these days, as they basically have no privacy. Every awkward phase, every mistake, is documented and timestamped forever. Every teenage girl compelled to perpetually pout on instagram, every teenage boy bombarded with stangle-porn.

People, particularly young people, need the opportunity to make mistakes in private. That's my feelings on privacy.

Maybe look into properly compartmentalizing your identities? This goes for anyone that is saying you shouldn't use software built for anonymity to """blend in""". In the particular instance of attracting the "wrong sort of attention" you could have just made a Gmail and given it to normies instead.
Do not touch my phone, it is my soul.

Unless you only use public WiFi yeah, it's a myth, you pay the internet provider for access to internet, more often than not, that bill is in your name, somehow connected to you, you can make anonymous emails and accounts all you want but they are still connected to you one way or another.
In my opinion, privacy online is a myth in this day age. Everyone that has ever used the internet is in some mega-corps databases. Even if you use things like a VPN, secure mail providers, secure messaging apps, etc, you still won't have true privacy on the internet.

I think we're all entitled to a degree of it, a human right in a sense. I also believe however people should prepare for much and much less of your life to be private as we evolve.
Keep that seed phrase safe homies
Privacy is everything. Unfortunately with modern age and technology it gets increasingly harder.
