Hi, I'm new to cybersecurity and I'm researching Call Spoofing and how Caller ID manipulation works in VoIP systems for educational and personal learning purposes. I am interested in understanding how these types of attacks are carried out, and would appreciate any guidance on tools or configurations needed.

So far I have a basic idea of how a SIP server works and the concepts of SIP trunk to make external calls, but I am faced with the following doubts:

Caller ID Spoofing:

Many SIP providers seem to block changing the Caller ID to unverified numbers.
Are there any tools or configurations that allow sending a modified Caller ID without restrictions?
Recommended tools:

I have heard of some VoIP solutions and SIP clients, but I am not sure which is the best tool to practice this type of attack.
What tools or platforms do you recommend for Caller ID Spoofing testing?
SIP clients and advanced settings:

If I use a SIP client like Zoiper or Linphone, is it possible to manually modify the SIP settings or Contact URI to spoof the Caller ID?
Or would I need more advanced settings with another tool?
