You ever get so stressed, completely unable to find your true self, disassociated all the time, nothing brings you joy, you start new things but lose interest quickly, every job you work at makes you miserable, but when you try to freelance you get in your own way with anxiety, bad habits etc.?
Well my question is, have you ever considered taking about 6 months completely off, no job, if you have the money and just wander, travel and try to get that spark back into your life?
This is my plan in several months if I am able to have enough resources to go without a job for a bit longer. I am wondering if anyone went through it, and how did it feel?
I did this back in 2022. It was really nice. I didn't have to worry about bills or anything. I slept when I wanted, I woke up when I wanted. Went on vacations, and just truly enjoyed life. I hope to do it again someday.

For how long did you went away? Were you alone or with someone else? Did you just enjoy life or did you learn something about yourself?

We went on some weeklong vacations here and there but as far as work we both took roughly 6-7 months off. We had sold our house and had the profit from that. Plus my previous job I made a decent amount at so bills were all covered and I just felt like I needed to reset.

I recognize these things, but right now I have a job that I enjoy. So it’s not possible to take 6 months off. I think someday I would love to do something like this.

Good to hear man! I hope I can accomplish something like that next year. Would go nowhere fancy, but just some roadtrips, my country has some amazing sights and I would love to go hiking, sleep in some small cabins in the woods, bring my dog and telescope, or just try the dating scene really as now I have absolutely no interest in that.

It was great. It took me a little bit to get situated again when I went back to work. I hope to do it again someday. Next time not as long.
