I took a game from a certain site,but it needs extra files to run:a nodvd patch,and a crack for its DRM code,titles AdvHd.When scanned by windows defender, it shows severe> trojan, forgot its name.

Tried other sources with same results.So must either buy game,but unable to for a nr. of reasons, find the right drm-removal tool but no success although there was 1 on f95, search for clean files but failed, or come here.To look for a specific way-to remove trojans but somehow keep the files? necessary to run game.

And yes am aware of pirated games and crack risks, but it's 1 of the few cases where cant find a solution, been playing games since 2005.

Game in q is a non-h japanese game, with 7 trap heroines(yes I'm into THAT but dont wanna hear anything about my interests).
I doubt sharing the game name could help, but will do so if it will require.

Can I somehow disinfect files(remove virus but keep files)?

Not really, unless you de-compile the program and modify it in assembly.

Besides, be aware that lot of cracked programs/games can be detected as malware because of their code. Even if it could be harmless for your computer, the code used is similar to what is used in malicious programs, or they have some behavior associated to malicious programs, that's why it could be flagged as a Trojan.

I'm not saying that the cracked game you downloaded is safe, however it may.

A solution could be to run the video game into a virtual machine (through, virtualbox or Vmware) without internet connection. However, some malware have VM escape abilities, so if it's a trojan there is still a chance to get your computer infected.

Are there reviews about this game on the website you downloaded it ? Do you have maybe another physical computer that you could use only for this game ?

Well hsuki usually has safe games, and on sukebei was shared by girlcelly, so I could think it's safe...but if it shows severe, it could be more than just plain false positive right? not to mention, played a nr. of VNs with cracks, and all were safe.
I could try pm girlcelly, but she/he could say it's safe so Idk. Or maybe a good site to scan files, without tricking you to buy whatever or install viruses by themselves?

Game is Shiny Sisters by Ensemble, maybe someone could test it? although it's probably not safe/recommended.
And my other PC has linux, really nothing to try there...

Took the patch on android, and did a nr. of online scans, they were OK, but still not convinced...
If I could crack the key, it would be easier instead of risking with the patch.
I could know the code, and instead of nodvd I could just mount the iso disk each time I play.
Is there a tool to try all combinations, to try and find the good ones?
The game has a 4x4 code design for DRM if I remember correctly...

Wanna try a different antivirus, what's the best for windows 10 which is also free?, more or less.
Found many examples, but want a good one.
Avast, Kaspersky, Norton, Bitdefender, Total AV or something, basically they said w. defender sucks big, well I can at least confirm the full scan was mind and time-breaking.
So, any good suggestions? The fact that only wdef saw a trojan, and that many others saw nothing put me in a confusing state, and yes am trying to get a good AV to correctly asses the situation.

Regarding the key, there are some tools that automate tasks :

- PyAutoGUI and Pywinauto (Python-Based)

You could get help from AI for the Python script. DeepSeek is pretty good at it, or ChaptGPT-mini o3 is even better, but don't know if it's free or paid.

what key, are you saying the game has used a obfuscator and has set an encryption key ?

how do you know if you haven't tried to decompile it ?

a key is used for verification on server side stuff like logins, any software on your pc can be decompiled

if you don't want to decompile it use monitoring software's in a virtual machine to try and see what the software does but even then you may have to do a lot of editing so the software thinks its in a normal pc

I may try the above options,buy now I'm trying a different approach-using Detect it easy but also a debugger,plus a guide made by someone who might be Indian by name,who knows.

Took the game again,but until now no success.First of all,which of the two is the one I must verify,AdvHD or Startup?Tried both but no success,AdvHD is the exe who was cracked btw,but was apparently malicious according to VirusTotal,while Startup is the exe which needs to be clicked and shows the 4x4 serial requirement.

The two programs I'm using are safe btw,only found 1 of the exe in Detect it easy as trojan susgen at VT-typical MaxSecure blunder,it's false positive of course.While the crack for SS game was always found by many other AVs,that's why I'm trying other ways to make it work-the game,yes.

Played a bit,found a few possible keys of 16 characters while surfing the 2 exes through debugger but none worked,I assume I need to find some range of working serials?Or the net has something to do with it,since it apparently connects to somewhere whenever I type combinations?If that's true I'm probably screwed,and I could use all the help now.

Final post of me in here.I tried but not a chance,it's too darn complicated.I think even a master hacker will have a hard time succeeding,and I'm in the far opposite direction of being any expert.I give up,which is to say I wont say no if someone else does it or a safe crack appears,either a different one or the malicious one being cleaned somehow,maybe.But I'm through here,it's not worth it and it's not even a 18+ game,which adds to the frustration but also give me the perfect reason to quit on my side.If it ever happens,good.If not,nothing lost,only time and nerves(in the past).
