Update on the pool table...ITS GONE!

So today was the day to assess the pool table for the damage I did.

Those that don't know I tried to move the pool table about 15 cm away from the wall and heard a horrible noise, walked around and saw on of the pool table legs sitting at 45 degrees.

That has pushed up so get the table looked at and new felt. They assess the cushions and they are all good which saves me a bit. The leg's dowells are completely destroyed so they opted to take the while table away to get fixed properly, one of the other legs are loose and needed attention. We also picked our colour, slate blue which is also in thew photos.

Colour we decided on (Slate blue, colour sitting on the cushion)

I will make another thread when the table has returned all fresh!

Ouch, wasn't aware about the leg, sorry for that man

Do you know how much it will cost to fix / replace the part ?

For them to fix the leg and tighten the from, basically a full reno on the timber and refelt its $1500 AUD.

Oh hell no.

Some super glue and we’re good to go.

You’re right.

Some flex seal and we’re good to go.

Nice bro! I would of chosen a nice burgundy though if you had to replace the entire thing. I can't do stuff like this and commend the hell out of you for the time you put into this mate
You’ll be laying down Home Depot industrial plastic wrap and separating your 5lbs of weed into 1/8ths, quarters, half’s and OZ’s in no time.

The felt replacement is likely the bulk of the work here. Drilling the dowels and putting in new ones is likely only an hour or two of work.

Yeah it definitely is. I'll send an update when j get the table back.

Dude, that leg is easily fixed by yourself. You need a drill, some wood glue, and some pegs (dowels). Also a saw and some sandpaper will be helpful. You can get all that at Home Depot for like $20 (assume you have drill, if not WTF).

The break is actually very clean. Maybe a 90 minutes job to fix.

I'm disappointed in you.

Hahaha disappointed in me 🤣. I've left it with the professionals. Most of the cost of this job is the refelting and tightening of the table. The leg fix was really something that they're doing as an extra. The price didn't change to fix the leg.

One of the middle legs is also a bit wobbly so they're looking at doing that leg as well.

My mates are lazy cunts that don't do this for free, the ones that do, aren't capable of helping or I don't trust. I can see them dropping the top or some shit and cracking the slate.

I'm sorry you're disappointed in me, you are sounding like my parents lol.

It's a tough one to fix. If it's off by just a few millimeters overall then an experienced pool player will notice it. Unless the table is perfectly flat and free of vibrations, you can't rely on it for an accurate game of pool.

Not really, each leg has levellers. So if it's off you can adjust the leveller to fix it. I could add or take an inch from that leg and then still be able to get it level.

You should be disappointed in yourself for not being man enough to fix your own shit. Most of our parents never called anyone except maybe friends to something fixed in their home.

I do crazy work around my house from fixing appliances to plumbing. I changed my Water Heater, fixed my fridge multiple times, fixed my washing machine, added new electrical outlets, and did flooring work in about 5 rooms. The only thing I really called a guy on was HVAC when my AC went dead.

At some point you have to take control over your house and calling up some dude to charge you $100+ an hour is just money out the door that should be in your pocket. That's how I look at it.
