Well, my dad used to drive taxi when I was a child so always on Christmas eve he would suddenly have to go to work and about 30 minutes later santa would magically show up. I was always so sad that dad could not be there to see Santa. So yeah it was a shock to wee lil me when I realized dad was Santa :D

When I found out about Santa I didn't feel betrayed at all. I felt admiration that my parents did all that for me without taking any credit for it. The stories of different holiday figures are probably the biggest lies Big ol' bearded lad flies on a sleigh of reindeers to every house in the world, in one night, and goes down the chimney with a sack of toys, while consuming what you could estimate as billions of cookies and treats. I'm okay with an aircraft making the trips w/ new propulsion tech someday, but the rest would be miraculous. (Oct 28, 2025 07:18 PM)The Pact Wrote: That's very cute. But soon after the same thing, and now days I even join my dad every Christmas as a helper. He does these things for other families now days. So he is kinda the local Santa of my home town, which is great. To see the younglings have the best Christmas they could hope for.

The whole idea that if an animal followed you home your could keep it. I bet my mother wouldn't have let me keep it. But actually that did happen for me finally when I was 24 a ginger cat followed me home and he was so muscly that he didn't look starving at first, but when you had a closer look he was actually emaciated under muscle and he was the best most loyal cat I ever had. He was much more like a dog in his devotion to me and followed me everywhere.

But I was just glad there was finally a kitten. |
