Hi. I've saved a human life from imminent death.
This happened a couple of years back when my friends and I were playing in the beach.
We were 2 teams of 2 friends and the teams had to throw a ball and the other team had to catch it. We were all drunk and none of us knew how to swim.
All was fine until one of us started throwing the ball further into the sea. (Not sure who started it though)
In some time, the ball was thrown too far and one of us, (let's call him S) went in to fetch it. Out of nowhere, he started drowning and waving his hands. His teammate (let's call him V) instead of trying to save him, ran towards the shore.
Without even thinking for a second, I rushed towards S and gave my hand. The drowning man will always try to take someone with him.
Just like the saying goes, he grabbed my hand and I too lost my balance and couldn't feel the ground under my feet anymore. For a moment, I thought I was gonna drown.
Out of nowhere came a wave which pushed us a little towards the shore and I felt the ground. Immediately, I used all my strength and pushed the ground beneath and moved towards the shore. All this while S held onto my arm and didn't let go. Another wave helped us and we reached the shore without losing our lives.
It was one of the very few near death experiences I had experienced in my life and I saved a friend's life in the process.
S was very impressed and told this to all our friends. But in a few months, S and V became best friends.
When we reached the shore I asked V why he didn't try to help S and instead ran towards the shore for which he replied that he thought of getting help.
Has anyone had similar experiences in life?
