Temu to stop selling goods directly to US customers

Temu to stop selling goods directly to US customers.
Shipments under the de minimis exemption accounted for more than 90% of all the cargo entering the US, according to the country's Customs and Border Patrol. The move is in line with Trump's policies of cracking down on goods from China.

Is Temu even semi popular in the states?

Popular enough to warrant a lawsuit.

Temu is great and it's very popular here in Canada :)
No signature required.
I have bought many stuff from Temu. Specially for etsy market and resell it, it's brilliant.

To be honest what ever plastic we touch it's made in china...nothing against it. Some people love it some don't. Here in UK, it's popular, but loads of people are reluctant to use it.
While I reside in the US, I've never ordered anything from Temu. I've had my fair share of experiences with companies like this, from ordering from Wish & AliExpress. I had mixed experiences ordering from these places, majority of the stuff is cheap quality.. but occasionally you get an item that is actually decent quality. When Temu came out, I already had enough experiences with those other companies, no need to go down that route again. I'll stick with Amazon.

It was certainly over the last few years very popular.

I never personally ordered from Temu but I did use those invite links/click links for people I know to give them the credits or money whatever the hell it was that they earn from that.

But I believe it was really a big data collection situation, I did get a lot of spam calls on my old number which I used, can I confirm it is linked? no but it does raise suspicion to me.

I have order a ton of things from them. It's easy and safe and it takes a month to get to you.
I have bought ethernet cat 8 dirt cheap paid $18 USD for 55ft cat 8 ethernet cables.

You can buy in bulk fiber optic cables dirt cheap from them. There's also clothes I bought
and wool blankets. However, you get what you pay off. the clothes and blankets are cheap quality.
I had to buy from amazon an alpaca wool blanket from south America. Paid a lot for it though.

Temu is good for cheap annoying thins. Like if you need cables for your computers you can buy it dirt cheap there.

However, don't buy any computer parts or anything like that. I didn't do that but I know some people that bought cards
that overheated and burnt and didn't last even a week.

YES YES YES YES YES

Can we have this in the United Kingdom also? How is it that when I import my products from China I have to pay 20% VAT + 13% Import Tax but Chinese companies based in China can send infinite amount of products to the United Kingdom without any import charges at all? I'm a small business and this sort of shit makes my blood boil, also factoring in that the UK is also lowering the amount of money you can earn before you have to pay tax from £12,000 to £3,000, if they taxed the top companies 1% more, it would cover that £9,000 for every single person living and working in the UK, but instead they'd rather tax the lower/lower-middle class more. It's fucking disgusting and this country is a shithole.

Well, sure, import taxes (tariffs) are paid by importers, not exporters.

There are no import taxes on products under £135 though? (Think this is being lowered soon as well, Yippee! 🙄) So the importer (The customer buying on Temu/Aliexpress/Dhgate/+) pays 0% import tax allowing China to mass peddle cheap shit while avoiding having to pump their prices by 10-35% like I have too, also Chinese people are selling directly from China on Ebay at near material cost because of this making it very VERY hard to compete - This isn't fair nor is it competitive. Your delivery times can be relatively poor and your customer support dogshit if you're nearly 30% cheaper than the competition, I put effort into every part of everything and I see absolutely no reward for my effort.

I am directly competing with China in my home-turf AND THEY GET THE HOME ADVANTAGE? Trump is genuinely doing good by the US in this scenario in my opinion.

Haha, I agree with you 100% on not purchasing any computer parts from there. While I haven't purchased from Temu, as I mentioned I have experience with Wish and AliExpress.. which are clone companies of Temu. When I was ordering from Wish, I bought a bunch of stuff from them.. a lot of stuff I didn't even need, just bought it because the price was cheap. I had a mixed experience with ordering cables and components like that.. sometimes they would be good, while other times they would come with shorts, or just be of poor quality. I'm choosing to stay away from Temu, to try and avoid going thru that phase of buying things, just to buy things. I was doing that too often with Wish. Had so many packages arriving at my house, and as I said half the stuff I didn't even need. In a few years, Temu will quiet down, and another clone company will come out. This seems to happen every few years.
Good. It’s worthless Chinese trash that’s usually a scam anyways. Iv never used it. And won’t.

You blocked me so you might not read this. I actually don't blame you for blocking me and understand why you got disgusted. All I can say you don't know the circumstances of my life.

That sounds more of a UK problem than a Temu issue? A lot of businesses overseas are avoiding selling to the UK because the UK requires overseas sellers to register for VAT if their sales exceed £85,000, which obviously causes a lot of administrative burdens.

Omni gave us a detailed way we could protect ourselves when buying Temu, but I got tempted was too lazy to do what Omni said and ugg at least I should have been sensible enough to give them a different email than my main email, but I wasn't and now I get bulk USA spam to my spam folder none of which I could even buy even when it sound good because it's all USA stuff.

HOWEVER I was hating Temu from their ads appearing everywhere online and it creeped me the fuck out and they were obviously picking up on my microphone stuff I said when I had the app on my phone because it was showing me stuff I mentioned like I mentioned this video about Pickleball to my son and it started showing me ads for pickleball. That's creepy as fuck.

HOWEVER the stuff I bought on Temu was all actually really nice. Really nice for a tiny price. They make you spend $42 US to get two free items but it all ends up being a lot of nice stuff super cheap.

They are clearly using Ai art on the products and some of it is SO beautiful!

I sell Ai art on products, but it's depressing because I can buy on Temu, so much cheaper than I can even buy my own Ai art on products from the company I sell with. It's expensive for me to buy my own Ai art. lol

And the company I sell with has put up fees on me so high that it's now not even worth putting the time in anymore.

I used to make $60 a month real profit, selling Ai art on products, not a lot of money, but it was so easy and fun to make that money.

But this year then they put fees against what I earn, so I made $3000 doing that in the past since 2021, but now I only make $30 every three months because of all the additional fees the people I was working with hit me with in 2025, so now it's kind of a waste of my time. 😭 It was really fun and I'm scared to put money into doing it another way because I might lose money taking on more risk.

I really would have thought that. But the scam is just that they flood your email spam folder with a gazillion ads that never end even when you block the emails they have a thing where the companies spamming you just change their number so you block 65732herpescure.com and then they just blitz you with 75732herpescure.com the 85732herpescure.com etc....😠 However, the products are not a scam and are really nice and really cheap. The punishment is in your spam folder.

I haven't purchased from those sites myself, but the general idea is that the products they sell are mass-produced and of low quality. However, it's said that there are also high-quality products available; the downside is that they're made exclusively for themselves or only for the Asian market.

Remember when there was a surge of videos from Chinese manufacturers revealing that Western stores produced most of their products in Chinese factories, claiming they were of "good quality"? Well, these manufacturers also have their own high-quality brands. It's believed that they reserve the best for themselves—or at least, that's what some people say and speculate.
