iOS vs Android — What’s Your Weapon of Choice in 2025? 🔐📱
Curious to hear where the HF crowd stands on this one.
Are you deep in the Apple ecosystem, or do you ride with Android for the freedom and flexibility?
Personally, I’ve been a diehard iOS user since 2010. I started jailbreaking back on the iPhone 4. I think I used greenpois0n back then. Been through all the big names: Absinthe, evasi0n, Pangu, and now I’m running Dopamine on 16.3 with my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Still jailbroken. Still loving it.
I’ve owned a couple Android devices over the years for pentesting tools and wireless work, but they never really clicked with me. Just not my cup of tea. iOS always felt cleaner and more polished, especially with jailbreak tweaks.
I always used IPhone i just love it, even tho the prices are getting higher and the quality stays the same, it honestly breaks my heart but i cant get away from iphone ;/
I am curious what you could jailbreak in an iphone tho... never heard of that

You mentioned you’ve never heard of jailbreaking, that’s honestly where things get fun. Back in the early iPhone days, a bunch of developers figured out ways to remove Apple’s restrictions and unlock full control over the device. One of the biggest names in the scene was Jay Freeman, also known as saurik. He created Cydia, which was basically an unofficial App Store packed with all the things Apple would never allow custom tweaks, themes, tools, you name it.
With a jailbroken iPhone, people were adding widgets years before Apple made them official. You could completely change how your phone looked and worked, emulate old game consoles, spoof your location, record calls, access the full file system, and honestly just mess with your phone in ways that felt super personal.
These days though, the jailbreaking scene has really slowed down. Around 2018, Apple started locking things down tighter, so jailbreaks became rare and harder to maintain. It’s kind of a niche hobby now, but still alive for the people who are into pushing their devices to the limit.
Even without a jailbreak, you can still sideload apps that Apple doesn’t allow. Tools like TrollStore or AltStore let you install unsigned apps or modded versions of popular ones, and it’s surprisingly easy to get started.
Here’s my current setup just for fun. I blocked out a few private bits like my nickname and city, but the rest is how I themed it. My daughter really wanted a picture of the three of us on the screen and throughout my device, so I used MidJourney to create an AI-generated version of me, her, and my wife. Even Siri got a full makeover 😄

If you ever feel like experimenting or just wanna see what’s possible with your device, I’d be happy to show you some cool stuff or help you get started. It's easier than you think and a lot of fun once you dive in.👍
