There are a lot of things that can correlate to late-life issues.
There's no easy fix, but perhaps there are problems to easily identify & work on solving.

Exactly, and same with cortisone spikes, etc.
Unfortunately we've normalized everything so much, now we're in quite the predicament.
People won't accept that social media can actually increase loneliness, or perception of loneliness.
People won't accept that certain political parties or groups lead to stress, resulting in more death.
We normalize it all and excuse everything as the will of capitalism, with no regard for Earth or the humans in the system.
Too many people just do not care about anything that isn't DIRECTLY correlated, so I am glad Meta was even willing to share this type of research. Of course, their motivation is to make Meta the hub of anti-loneliness.... even if other research shows that excessive internet use and social media increases loneliness.
But it's a start I guess... Have to be aware of the problem before a solution can be brainstormed.
One day this will be better, but for now all we can do is make people more aware.
I truly hope that there will be a time in the future where people will consider 100 year timelines, or even 1,000-10K year timelines as more important than 1-10 year timelines.
Unlikely, but it would be nice.
Social and family structures have broken down so expect more of this. Its also ironic that companies like Meta are responsible for some of that loneliness.

Yeah 100%
Social media has created a whole new field of problems that we're only just starting to really understand. What does long-term social media use look like in 100 years for civilization? We shall see
Loneliness amidts aqaintances or even friends is something I struggle heavily with. Even now I have a friend sitting in the other room. I mean I'm glad she's there and I really enjoy the company but deep down there's that annoying little void that just doesn't seem to want to understand that I have people in my life willing to be with me. I have a support friend who I talk with about deep subjects I would never share with just any friend but even then the little voice in my head always whispers, "Nothing really matters afterwards, so why even try?"

I'd say that wasn't their intent though.
But loneliness does suck. Make sure to have someone in your life who cares for you as much as you care for them.

make sure you fixate on yourself too though. Sometimes the best thing you can do for someone you love is love yourself, and be the best you can be, for yourself, and for them and your joint future.
