The idea is simple... Drive sales for HF to help it grow, and also provide premium content to upgraded users...

I am suggesting specific bbcode that lets us set specific parts of our posts or threads for certain user groups.

I think this will be useful for gating premium content, staff notes or comments, and helping drive up membership sales.

An alternative idea would be to turn spoiler tags into an upgraded only feature (to reveal).
This could drive sales of leet when premium content (or specific parts like downloads & links) are gated behind spoilers.

That's an interesting concept! It would definitely give some boost to new members on upgrading and would also allow cross-group posting, for example there could be a discusssion in "AI Model Development" forum about a shared project between groups - but not for the public-.

That could be cool too, having some groups like [legends], etc supported too.

yeah yeah, this is what I meant.

For example the convo project itcorp / ttbr0 / MarlboroMan are working on ( https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=6310986 ) , could be shared with the whole HF, the progress etc, but the source code could only be available to Quantum, Legends & Hackers

We only require members join the site to view threads.

You can use the attachments for Bytes if there is content you wish separate.

There is no guarantee that threads will contain hidden content. All content is submitted by members, is not reviewed by staff, and may vary in quality."

For 25 years, long before HF, I've seen this feature in various forms. Always despised the implementation. Never seen it done well where I would agree with adding it to HF. It's like the Shoutboxes which I also feel the same about.

There are 3 things you won't see ever one HF.

1. Escrow
2. Hide Feature
3. Shoutbox

Of those three, if I was to ever reconsider, it would be escrow using blockchain in a such a way that technically I'm not responsible for funds, such as multisig key usage.
