What’s the Best Advice You Ever Got and
How Did It Change Your Life?
Here is one of the pieces of advice I got and how it changed my life.
Sometimes the best advice doesn’t come from “important people,” books, or moments when you’re actually looking for it. This is how I received one of the most important pieces of advice in my life.
It happened in a just normal moment, and honestly it wasn’t even deep. Someone just dropped a sentence that hit me harder than I expected:
*Whoever talks to you about others will eventually talk to others about you.* I had no idea in that moment how true that was.
Wait, let me be clear: I’m not talking about just one simple comment or a normal observation about someone. I’m just talking about people who come to you only to gossip, to spread negativity. And usually, this whole thing happens at the workplace. That’s where you see it the most. Colleagues whispering, moving from desk to desk, telling you something “just between us,” and then five minutes later telling someone else a story about you. 🤭
This advice changed my life.
After that day, I started choosing my friends and even my work relationships differently.🙂 It helped me keep toxic people out of my space, even if some would say I was exaggerating. For me, it wasn’t an exaggeration, it was a filter, a simple but extremely effective one.
And honestly? I think you should pay attention to. If someone (usually at work )comes to you often with stories about others, trust me, there's a 99% chance they will talk about you as well, and soon. Now think about it, It’s not philosophy, it’s just how some people work.
So now I’m curious:- What advice have you received that changed your life?
- And do you think this one might help you choose your friends and colleagues more wisely?
Focus on solutions, not problems.
I prefer colleagues who act, not complain.
I always share it.
"Never believe in a prediction that doesn't empower you."
That means to not believe in anything that doesn't move you forward in the positive direction. Never settling for worse thing. Never believing the noises.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MEMBER
Everyone has their own path, follow your own.
Lots of things have been said to me, they never stuck until I was about as old as I am now, but internally I am still that edgy skid teenager who used to come on here, just now I am jaded, old and have a little bit more skill under my belt to know when to act my age, or to just kick back and watch the world burn.
I don't have one specific thing, but after an enlightening adventure on LSD in a hostel I now realize life has a lot of minigames like Subway, and the aim is to just play them the best you can, don't try be something you're not.
"You are who you surround yourself with." - That would be about it I think
My life's goal is to bully Stanley into admitting he's only here to steal bytes.

I learned that too ..
for me it was find out the real problem first and then apply the solution.
It seems simple but most people don't fully understand the problem and apply a solution that won't work because they don't fully understand the problem and normally jump to conclusions before fully understanding the problem.
This is common in technical jobs. It can also be applied to financial issues and relationship issues.

From that moment I do this, when I see people who complain too much, I leave ...💯
+10 Popularity for this 🙂

Good advice. I didn’t know this one, and it definitely helps. Thank you.
+10 Popularity for this 💯 (Ohh, I gave it to you months ago )

Yes, another good advice. I know it as: Don’t copy others, be yourself.
+10 Pop from me 🙂

Yes, I know this advice but in different words:
Tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are.
or When I see who you hang out with, I know what kind of person you are.
Good advice, mate, also +10 popularity for this one🙂

Oh yeah, this advice looks very simple, but like you said, many people do not understand it. And as you mentioned, this happens a lot in relationship problems too, which honestly leads to completely useless arguments. Good advice.
Also, +10 popularity for this one ;)
I also heard that and it's been very useful. Can't even think of all the little tips like that over time I've received. They come to me when I need them. One that sticks out though and had the biggest effect I'd say is this. "If you want more, become more. You can't change the direction of the waves/wind but you can build a better boat so they don't matter." It's true with career, relationships including women and pretty much everything. I've noticed the world is full of a ton of pessimism and people blame outside influence for their station in life. Ignore as much of that as possible and just continually improve yourself in every area that your unsatisfied. Instead of chasing the things you want they'll come to you. "If you'll get better, then everything will get better for you." Both of them were from the late great Jim Rohn. My mentor from beyond the grave.

I didn’t know the one with the boat, but it makes sense in many situations. Nice one.
+10 popularity for this one. 🙂
Not exactly an advice but "ego kills learning" was a life-changing for me.

Like you said, it’s not really advice. When it comes to ego, there are many.
The one I remember now is:
Put your ego aside and you become more human.

A powerful psychedelic experience can help facilitate that. Not going to a party and tripping but instead doing it with a shaman or spirit guide.
Dont tell your plans to anyone until you do them keep them for yourself
Maybe you say but why because my parents wants my good and they are not envious on me etc
Well lets say you want to became a succesful entrepreneur who travel around the world and your parents invested in you a lot of money in your university
They will believe you are crazy with this online business thing and its the bigges mistake to dont follow your path by becaming an engineer ,lawyer ,doctor etc
The best advice I ever received was: don’t get involved in solving a problem you weren’t asked to solve.
Indeed, your energy will be wasted one way or another in all cases.
