Have you ever sat and thought back to when we were children, spending endless hours outside with our friends?
Back then, the days felt longer somehow. We’d leave the house in the morning and not come back until the streetlights came on, filling our days with adventures, laughter, scraped knees, and memories that still stay with us years later.
Before computers, social media, and video games became such a huge part of life, our friendships were built outside — riding bikes, kicking a ball around, exploring places that felt enormous to us at the time, and sharing moments that became stories we still remember today.
Now, when you look around, you rarely see children outside the way we used to be. Most socialising seems to happen through screens, online games, and social media instead.
It’s strange sometimes to think about how differently children make memories and connect with each other today compared to when we were younger.
yeah i remember riding my bike to the park and being able to tell whether or not my friends were there just by looking at the bikes laying on the ground, not a single phone on site.
if you go to different countries, can't list any from the top of my head but for example vietnam, there's a lot of badminton, soccer, sports and kids playing at the park. kids there running around looking for activities to do, some areas were not affected as much as where we are living.
probably due to being scared of getting kidnapped cause of how many kids go missing every year.

can you quote some sources or actual numbers because I don't think kids are getting kidnapped as much as people think

Yea, it was fun without phones. You want to find a friend, you go at the places where kids gather to play, or you go in front of their house and start screaming, so they can show up on the window. Priceless memories :)
Yesterday while I was at my mum's for Mother's Day, she was talking with my grandma on the phone and talking exactly about this. How she's feeling sad for newer generations because we all look like hopeless zombies, which is kind of true. I miss those times. I wish I had enough money to just go ahead and live life through a child's lens again.
There was no internet or cell phones when I was a kid but I still didn't go outside that much because I was a girly girl that liked to wear frilly dresses and read books and take drama classes and play make believe games and play with dolls and my Fisher Price castle and because of a condition I wasn't able to ride a bike or skate or any of that stuff. There fun times at pools with friends though.
I did like at my first school primary or elementary school we had a game called building huts in the bush which was really just using these strange branches that fell off the trees they had out the back of the school and when you'd sweep with them clouds of red dust would fill the air so I did like that outdoor play or going down slides etc... at parks and sometimes I'd play with friends outside but possibly more often I played with them inside.

I agree, but back then we had video games, we had internet and the social media was board forums. I agree with you that I don't see kids outside playing but do see them at a buss stop getting ready to go to school. So, I know there's kids in my area but never see people outside playing. The only people I see is old people talking during the day and sometimes like 30 to 40 year old women walking their dogs. That is about it.
I miss those days for sure. The bike racks were the meetup spots
