SquirrelMail (Mail2Tor) Officially Done

Well i logged in today and apparently you can no longer send or receive mail. So basically the service is useless. I know they had their domain taken down by their host last year but you could still USE the email service. Sad day.

So anyone recommenced a free anon onion email service?

Quote:ALERT. All incoming / outgoing mails is broken as namecheap decided to flag our mail2tor.com domain.
We are still trying hard to get the domain back.
In the meantime, we will imporive our site and might map everyone to a new domain.
This way your username and old emails should still be accessible.
We sorry that after so many years, it has came to this.

Because some services on Tor are contactable only via email. Ans mail2tor was one of the last remaining email services on tor. And it was free as well.

I recently invited a contact. How many invites can we create per month?

This is all the info on their site i could find about it.

Quote:In order to create an account you will need an invite:

Obtain an Invite Code from a friend who trusts you. Invites Codes can be created by logging into account.riseup.net
Use the Invite Code by visiting account.riseup.net to create your account.

No rush thanks!

Squirrel was great because if its simplicity and no invites. Prob didn't have much for space but i don't use email to store things/backup stuff so i didn't mind.
Are you able to view your mails? (incase you had something valuable)

I believe so yes. I logged in ([email protected]) and was able to get to the inbox but there is a message that says no incoming or outgoing anymore. Might want to save stuff before you cant even log in anymore, which will def happen.

Oh, I thought it was more like a privacy type thing like if you had to communicate when doing illegal shit like hacking just in case you're communicating with a fed agent they couldn't figure out who they're exactly talking too and it's a good alternative to places like gmail.

Hmmmm , I considered using it for something specific a while ago but then I didn't because of something Happened IRL that solved the issue !

Well it could be used for that too. And it probably was. But this was just the basic of the basic when it came to actual email services. There was a lot of problems with the service as well, when it was working.

The main issue i ran into was some sites wont let you use that email service to register an account with. Otherwise it was fine for me.
