[Context : massive protests in France during October 17, 2026] - Protests massively supported and encouraged by the left-wing.
This morning I woke up seeing this, and it makes my heart bleed. The Limoges town hall was built in 1883, it's a part of French history that burnt during the night. We don't make anymore those majestic buildings. Imagine how much time, how dedicated people were to build this without the modern tools and knowledge.

In videos you can hear people cheering and applauding, not a single french by the way.
Many other buildings and monuments were also vandalized throughout the day.
It's just 8:30AM here, we'll definitely find more things like that during the day...
That's really unfortunate... Of course, they're not French. I wish all our brothers and sisters there safety.

Thanks Jamika 💚 I hope things will go better if people make the right choice for the next presidential election, but there are some rumors saying that the actual president is going for war with Russia or something like that, so according to the laws he could remain president during the war. We'll be fixed in 2027

I think Ukraine has become a heavy burden... Everyone wants to confront Russia out of fear of its expansion. This will put domestic security on a knife's edge.

The world is reaching the point where it was before covid.
I don't know if you remember the huge protests across the world in 2019.
Then covid happened.
Now France, Italy, Spain, Albania- everyone is on the edge. Let's see what happens.
Even during the Revolution, people didn't burn their history, because it was their history. Think of the art.

This war with Russia is stupid...

Yeah I remember but the people doing the protests are not the same, a lot of rioters were involved this time, they were looting everything they could. A lot of luxury stores have been looted, you could see people escaping with few PS5 in their arms, that was definitely not for protesting for something, they just saw the opportunity to steal stuff.

I can only agree with your words.
The town hall is a monument , soo beautiful inside out ! Sadly this is what it came to these days in France !

I'm not sure I actually disagree with looters, to be honest. They're generally not targeting small neighborhood markets or shops run by ordinary people. They're going after massive retailers, malls, and multinational corporations. And frankly, I couldn't care less if some giant retailer loses its entire stock of PS5s. At the end of the day, it's a loss that a massive corporation can absorb. I'm not saying looting is necessarily right, but I can understand that in a way, it's still an act of resistance against the system.
Shit is pretty nuts, france is in flames and looting going on

Yeah really sad, and the same people will pay to rebuild what other who don't work just destroyed. It's the same thing everytime... I hope we'll have a brighter future with the next presidential election.

Looters in France don't care at all about small neighborhood markets, they're just fucking stupid, they just want to destroy and burn everything. Some times they just go into a small shop and break everything, no matter if it's a bakery or a Dior shop.
Massive corporation will definitely not absorb this, the cost will be transferred to customers, like every time. The main question is about insurances. Every time things like that happen, insurances increase their prices. So at the end, it's always the same that pay the bill.

About a year ago, French farmers staged massive protests over their working conditions and unfair competition from imported food products grown using chemicals that are banned in France.
At the time, the French president deployed overwhelming force to confront the farmers, including a massive fleet of armored vehicles (such as "Centaures"). Yet, when it comes to violent rioters like these, we've seen nothing of the sort, just police officers getting beaten up.
There's clearly a double standard and what looks like a deliberate attempt to undermine the country.
Emmanuel Macron is arguably the most hated president in French history. He's a former Rothschild banker, and I believe he was put in power to destroy the country. And he's done a pretty good job of it over the past decade.

This will cause a few possible outcomes.
1. Increased security, more hassle for regular consumers.
2. A rise in the price of goods and consumer products.
3. The loss of major retailers and supermarkets which results in the loss of jobs, loss of access to products which would also likely cause other small businesses to end up struggling or going out of business altogether especially restaurants that may rely on wholesale products.
Also if we look at riots and looting in the US for example during the BLM riots they did not care they hit small businesses, black businesses, big businesses, households, etc.

I wonder if another virus is going to break out soon.. would be a weird pattern, especially after hearing rumors that Russia might be trying to hide some kind of containment failure.
Haven't done much research on that one yet.. probably going to study up on some articles about it soon.

I don’t know the full context, actually. Today I saw some news videos about the riots and all the chaos, but I’d also heard that at first it was just students protesting. Apparently, farmers and other groups who had protested before ended up joining in as well, almost as if all the different groups that had already protested at some point took this opportunity to join together. How true is that? I’m curious about it. I might look into it more and see what I can find :3
