Problems Within the Graphics Section

What do you expect to be done with a massive amount of problems occurring in the Graphics section?

Awareness is probably one of the first steps to take. Hopefully this alerts everyone with all the problems.
Well. As I said before, at least you are raising awareness. Which can help the problem.
Sometimes I report wrong section posts and they stay were they are, for example:

https://hackforums.net/showthread.php?tid=1016299

I reported this I think yesterday afternoon.

Yet users comment still, personally if somethings in the wrong section ill report it and not post on the thread as its technically off topic.
Ive noticed that my wrong section reports seem to stay put most of the time as well, same with cross posting.
This is a good report but do you realizing that your trying to make suggestions which is not allowed.

False. Not a single thing was suggested. I realize suggestions are not allowed. I know the rules myself. I simply stated that it is a problem and something needed to be done about it. I never suggested any action to be done. I was raising awareness on this matter.
I totally agree with you Buzz.
When posting battles, people need to include a time limit for the poll to close by itself.
At least, make a Uber host the battle so he can close it when its done.

Gravedigging and wrong section posting should be reported immediately.

Reporting multiple thread problems through a thread might not be the best idea; but at least he is getting the problem known.

Quote:Recently, people have been posting in the incorrect section consistantly. Many people seem to overlook the individual sections, and post in sections that do not directly pertain to that which they're posting about.

This has been the case with whole of HF, not with one sub-forum, please take a look at hacking tutorials, it regularly gets filled with beginner hacking questions. Isolating a single forum would be wrong.

Solution : Report the threads and they will be taken care of. I believe sometime it may take longer than the report to be cleared but it will be cleared within 48 hours. 😉
Incase it isn't please Pm me with the thread link. 🙂
* Do Not Pm me if the thread you reported has been there for less than 48 hours, also if the thread is not moved try reporting it again from the first post of the thread.

Quote:Secondly, there's also the huge problem with gravedigging. Gravedigging (Or necroposting) has become increasingly regular in the Graphics section. Posts all the way back from 2009 are being dug up on a far too regular basis.

This shouldn't be taken as a "huge problem". Graphic section consists of arts by various users and it's Ok if a new member or registered user sees and acknowledges the art(provided it isn't a LQP)
However in-case of graphic contests you and other regular members of Graphic section should be responsible for reporting the thread to be closed after it's purpose is fulfilled.

Quote:Probably one of the most noteworthy of all, is the flaming.

I believe their is a drop down report reason for the same, please use it. 😉

Quote:However, most of the time, the thread is not urgent enough to bother a Staff member about.

Now this is just wrong, Staff members take each and every report as a top priority and for you to single out a forum thread or post, just because an action on the same got delayed is wrong on so many levels.
I agree with the space ranger. The amount of wrong-section posting between the Requests and main Graphics section alone is horrible, not counting any of the other issues he's listed. Great formatting, by the way.
Premium membership users can close their own threads. Gravedigging and wrong forum posting can both just be reported and/or frowned upon via the reputation system.
I'm going to have to strongly agree with every single argument that has been stated.
The graphics section has things that have been ed from years ago as well, or even a few months.

It's quite annoying, I feel as if there should be a section for very beginners and advanced, even intermediate.
Also there's people posting non related graphic threads in the 'graphics' section, it's quite annoying.

I think there's always time for change periods and this calls for one big time.

It is quite annoying though when a very old thread of yours gets ed, which sparks a new wave of discussion. For example, Warbeist's thread about the Christmas banner in 2009 has been gravedug a few times.

Recently, the OP of a contest was on vacation. The contest was past the due date of it, so I PM'ed Staff to close it. My PM was read. No response. No action was taken.

Still was never closed, even after I reported it/the member returned from vacation.

However, (I think I mentioned this) I do not catch a lot of the issues until it is over 48 hours old, thus not being able to report via the form.

While some posts could be reported as this, a lot of times they can't. They are subtle, or slight hints at it. Also, many times I have reported posts, and nothing has been done. (I am in no way complaining.) Also, thanks for clarifying. I didn't know that we should wait at least 48 hours.

Now this is just wrong, Staff members take each and every report as a top priority and for you to single out a forum thread or post, just because an action on the same got delayed is wrong on so many levels.
That is very true..GFX forum need more organisation!
I am haooy to see others noticing this!
The Graphics Section on a forum this size needs a team of mods to handle contests, battles and stuff like that imo.
