Hey there, I posted a topic about my new WebBrowser around a week ago. It is already more advanced than most other browsers written in VB.NET I'm now asking a pretty simple question - how can I set it apart from other browsers, and how can I make it better?

Already implemented features:
-Gecko Rendering engine (not the default one from Skybound, a more enhanced one)
-Tabbed GUI
-User Skinnabnle GUI
-Fully working Favicon retrieval & caching
-Bookmarks with favicons & bookmark editor
-Fully working find function with options & chrome like UI
-All browser buttons working
-Custom homepages
-Custom JavaScript Alert handling (with options to supress dialogs, etc)
-Fully working integrated search engines (with the ability to add search providers from the webpage (in BETA))
-Integrated tracks eraser for Optiron Browser & other browsers (with secure deletion option & custom files & folder erasure)
-BETA function to save page for offline browsing (not fully perfected yet)
-Document editor with Document structure explorer & element property editor
-Edit document in live mode
-Extract images & links from webpage & save to disk
-Text Zoom & Document Zoom
-Support for printing
-About dialog which pulls info from web
-CTRL + Click on links to open in new tab
-History in the back & forward buttons

Features I plan to implement in the future:
-Way better popup handling

-Better save function (it doesn't always work correctly with CSS

-Better user preferences & options which allow for proxy, plugins blocking, etc.

-Anything which people suggest to me which I think sounds good.

Known bugs:
-Browser sometimes crashes when popups are opened. Working on a fix.
-The find dialog sometimes shows up a bit to the left of where it should be on the form. Working on a fix.

The main purpose of this thread is for me to get ideas for new features to add. Please leave some feedback on what you think.

Thanks for the comment - But I really need a better PSU - The twin GTX 570s are having some problems doing really high FPS stuff on multiple monitors...

Why does this have such few comments? This is seriously like the only webbrowser on HF i've seen that doesn't look like complete utter shit..

Jack if you made all this yourself and not just got an opensource project w/e, i'd have to say good job. It looks like a hell of a browser, you can definately see that hard work has been put down into it. Oh and the document editor is a great tool, every browser should have it!

The DotNetBar theme is pretty hard to get good looking as there's so many people using it but I think you did it well and it doesn't look overworked or too detailed, it's slick and nice.

Only one little thing, the icon in the top left corner looks kind of bad. Is it gonna be in the final release?

Ideas for it:

I didn't see it in the feature list, so if you don't already have it you should definately create a easy-to-use plugin system where the users can create their own plugins. So the browser can get more and more features without you having to lift a finger. ^^

And another thing I didn't see in the feature list, an option to auto-fill forms would be pretty nice (Maybe create a plugin for it) and when your browser saves site credentials, make sure they're not easily accessed.

Oh and on a side note:

Thanks for all the comments. The icon up there is only temporary, I realize that it looks crap, just haven't got round to it yet.
I could write a plugin system, although It'd be the first I've ever attempted to do.

I will definitely add all the suggestions to my to do list (which is kinda big :P ).

I changed homepage once from the Homepage button, now i can't change it again?

Maybe add this: when you change a page or whatever, the URL in the URL bar changes too, that would be a nice feature (i know its in like every browser but its a good function)

The bug you're noticing happens because the main form is shown before the browser finishes loading.

I'm going to release a new beta version tomorrow. It will have better favicon caching, a history manager & editor, and a few other features.

I will have a proper look tomorrow, Just noticed options - refresh generated thumbs .. dotted line over laps minutes. Switch to new tabs when opened has 3/4 dotted line.

Browse does not open (save files to) i assume this is not added yet?

Added favourites links shows below the address bar, i mean.. just Icons shows..
Like if i add Facebook on favourites, it shows Facebook icon below address bar
