Tutorial on how to make your very own custom animated bootlogo for your iPhone/iPod/Ipad jailbroken on 4.2.1 with Greenpois0n or 4.3.1 with RedSn0w.
It is really easy and basic to make animated bootlogos. The main things you need to know is the canvas size, how to name the pictures, and where to place your folder with pictures. Anyone at any skill level could make atleast something.
Video Guide For Making Custom Bootlogos
Programs you can use:
-Photoshop
-Gimp
-MSPaint
-Practically any painting program.
The canvas size of your picture:
-Width=320
-Height=480
-Leave it at 72 ppi (pixel per inch)
How to save your work:
-Make a new folder named whatever you want your bootlogo to be called.
-Save your photos as a .png
-Save your first picture as "0.png" then "1.png", "2.png", and so on. I'm not sure how much is the limit. The start up time is the limit most likely.
After you are done making all of your pictures..
Using SSH, iFunBox, or the similar to copy the folder to your iDevice:
-Open the program you use to navigate your iDevice and expand it.
-Go to Library (in "Raw File System" with iFunBox)
-Then click on Bootlogos.
-Copy and paste your whole folder in Bootlogos
Turning on your bootlogo:
-Go to Settings.
-Scroll down a little and you will see a tab called "Bootlogo"
-Press on that tab and check the name of the folder you created.
Reboot (restart) and BAM.. You'll see your animated bootlogo you created! (you'll see the default Apple symbol for the first 5-10 seconds.)
This is my first tutorial to post here and I hope I help some people that were wondering how to do this.
