College student suspended from school for having sex with his girlfriend? What?

http://msn.foxsports.com/collegebasketba...ion-110911

Quote:Davies was suspended in March because of violations of the school's honor code. It was reported in March that the suspension was due to Davies having sex with his girlfriend. The school does not discuss the nature of suspensions but under the honor code students are prohibited from having premarital sex and drinking alcoholic beverages, among other things.

Quote:''Honestly, I think I'm a totally different person,'' Davies said Tuesday. ''It hurt. Not just me, but everyone around me. It's definitely something I'll never forget about and something I never want to do again, so I just use that to drive me in all that I do today.''

What the fuck is up with this? I'm not sure what the fuck I'm reading here.

Is it a religious school? Or a hardass school that shits bricks at everything.

I'd fight it. I mean, he was likely off the schools property so they can't suspend him for that. He should fight it hard.
Underage sex is not allowed on campus'.
It's most colleges terms of use. Plus underage sexual behavior is against the law itself.

it's a Mormon School, Brigham Young University
Seems like a christian school to me due to the pre-marital part, but I'm not interested enough to look at the link to find out.

That explains it. They're uptight. I hate schools that enforce rules to students likely off campus. Even on campus, they're of age. They can do what they please. Sex isn't illegal unless you're out in the open doing it.

Considering that when graduating from high school, most people are 18 or older. As long as they both consent, its legal.
