I came up with this idea some of you may already do it but guesses are that very few members would even think of this.
The best way from getting your account hacked is make 1 email address just for your HF account and nothing else, also turn on privacy
this is an option in Hotmail, that way nobody can send you anything and trick you into getting your details, you are the only person with
the email address and password, also write it down on paper and store it somewhere incase you forget the details.

Update.... I forgot to say never store any passwords on your PC

The said "Privacy Settings" are to be set as "Private" for the best type of protection of your e-mail ID.

account hacked, the hacker could completely destroy your profile 😉

I do this already and I've never been hacked.

I really do think this thread should be made a sticky, its so important also it would decrease the workload for the staff
having to deal with hacked accounts everyday.

I already did this, my password generated is really unique. If I get any mail on Gmail, I use it I get an SMS too. So if there is any suspicious activity I can get online quickly.

It does sound like a good idea.
I have an email just for HF, but I wouldn't reply to any emails giving out any information. I planned for it to be a way to communicate with other members, but tbh I haven't been on the email since I made it :L

The best solution here would be to make a "random" Gmail account which contains two step verification. Don't disclose this new email address to anyone and don't use it for anything except your hackforums email address.

Don't register the same email address on other online services also.

Most if not all members here should be using Gmail two step verification as it's fool proof due to it requiring phone verification.

I have done this, I bought a domain full off wired letters and numbers and made a email on that, I use that :)

What I do is I use gmail and then I turn on the 1-Step verification which will provide full privacy as you have to enter the code sent to your cell phone each time you try to login to your gmail account.
