The difference between bots and RATS?

Thread title says it all, whats the difference? and if i have a botnet, can i have total control over a persons computer?
It depends, a botnet is just a network of compromised or infected computers.
A RAT is a remote administration tool, you can pretty much do anything to their computer.
There are a lot of different types of botnets out there, some for DDoS, and some for stealing passwords etc..

They can be by very similar, or very different

It depends what capabilities each software has.

Some bothers give you a lot of options over the infected machine, whilst others don't.
Basically a 'botnet' is a generic term for a group of computers under one control.

A rat usually works by the infected computers connecting directly to the person although sometimes people use VPN's but you have complete control and there is no delay between sending a command and the slave responding.

The main types of botnet are IRC and HTTP, these are both considered better for holding more slaves and many slaves can be controlled at once.

A RAT can't be used to create a botnet.
The RAT is one bee. A swarm of bees is called a botnet as an example.

You will need a FUD crypter.
A botnet is a bunch of people you have infected on your list.
