How to make a decent logo in Paint.NET!

Hello fellow members of HackForums!
Today I'll show you a simple method to make a pretty sexy logo in Paint.NET (or probably any other software).
I'm sorry if this has already posted but I thought I would try helping anyway :D

What we will be aiming for:

Step 1
Open up Paint.NET and create a new image, I will be using a canvas of 400x200 pixels

Step 2
Fill current layer with a colour of your choice, this will be our background colour! (I will be using dark grey)
Spoiler (Click to View)

Step 3
Now create a new layer and add an image or colour (I will be using this: Spoiler (Click to View)), now move layer down so it's the bottom layer, this will be the colour/pattern of our text
Spoiler (Click to View)

Step 4
Next add a new layer and write your desired text (Mine will be "HELLO" with Astera font)
Spoiler (Click to View)

Step 5
Now use the Magic Wand tool while holding down CTRL, click the next layer down and press the DELETE button, this should carve a hole shaped like the text you wanted. (You can now delete the layer with the text)
Spoiler (Click to View)

Step 6
Now use the Outline Object effect (Effects->Object->Outline Object...) with width 10, softenss 255 and colour to black (Width varies from how much text you add and how big the text is) on the layer that has the text cut out on it.

Congratulations! If you followed my instructions correctly you should end up with a sexy new logo to show off!
