Section I am talking about:
Hacks, Exploits, and Various Discussions

The main part of HACKforums is the hacking section and as of late it has just become horrible with the same questions asked nearly every day. Although people will successfully argue that this forum has turned into a more social setting than just a hacking scene that's how this forum was born

I have removed a couple of sections out of this because I know nothing of the sections and I can't find any active members in those sections to help me out

Beginner Hacking SectionSpoiler (Click to View)
Problems With This Section
1. Threads that don't belong there. Examples are; My RAT is broken, My booter wont work, Hack this site for me
2. Questions asked over and over again. Examples are; Hack this facebook account, How do I get an IP from Xbox Live, What RAT/Keylogger/Booter should I use
3. Asking people what they should do. An example is "I have hacked/Ratted/keylogged XXX now what should I do
4. Asking if something is illegal/will they get in trouble for it. An example is; Will I get in trouble for putting a RAT on my brothers/hot girl from school/cats computer

Possible Improvements
1. A Sticky called "Threads that belong here" and then link the separate sections, Like the RAT section, Keylogging section, Request A Hack Section
2. A warning level (possible) and the thread deleted. Or a sticky saying Search before you post
3. There is nothing you can really do about this except disallow those threads, They don't really produce any productivity in the section
4. Possible adding of a Legal section in the Hacking Section/Under the SRPP for all legal discussions relating to real life or online activities


Hacking Tutorials Section

1. This section is meth for copy and pasters
2. A lot of tutorials posted over and over again. Examples; Get an IP from Xbox Live, Hack a computer with an IP
3. Low Quality Posting is rampant in that section, Even worse then the griefing section was. Example; Thanks for the guide, Will test this

Possible Improvements
1. Issue warnings for plagiarizing others work
2. I don't know how to stop it
3. Do what you did in the Greifing section, Crackdown on LQP


Website and Forum Hacking Section

1. Give warnings out, and a lot of them so people get the message
2. Nothing you can do really except have a designated moderator/mentor to carefully look after the section

1. People are always asking for free stuff in there. Examples; Can someone please crypt my server, Can someone please give me a free FUD crypter
2. People posting infected download links to Free FUD crypters
3. People posting about UFD2 hashes which DON'T EXIST

Possible Improvements
1. Make a rule against begging in that section
2. Possibly only allow L33T's+ to post in that section because normal members post infected links 24/7
3. Make a sticky saying UFD2 doesn't exist


Botnets, IRC Bots, and Zombies Section

1. People asking for links to a certain Botnet
2. Indirect advertising of paid Botnets such as Betabot and Athena
3. Talking about cracked programs (Like looking for cracked Andro, Smoke)

Possible Improvements
1. Add a sticky with all the safe download links
2. Add a new rule in that section that owners can't make a thread about their paid botnets
3. Warn people when they post threads like that


Wifi WPA WEP Bluetooth 4G LTE Wireless Hacking Section

Beginner Hacking

I am most active in the Beginner Hacking forum and probably make something like 90% of my posts there. What I like about this forum is that it attracts new members and they most likely learn the most in this forum (in regards to hacking)

What I hate about the forum is that it is constantly spammed with the same questions every day and the worst part about that is that once in a while, a quality post will be made (Ex. A tutorial, a help desk etc.) but they are almost immediately buried by the constant "How do I hack facebook?" and "Where do I start?". Honestly, I used to make 20 posts in that section a day but I'm getting less active because it's simply disheartening.

The beginner hacking section seriously needs to change. Maybe have a specific group look after it? Perhaps have a designated help desk or at the very least, sticky a FAQ with the questions that are being spammed the most on the forum.

I visit the Beginner Hacking section and the quality of this part of the forum is appealing. There are many skilled and knowledgeable members who are willing to share their knowledge and offer their assistance at no cost.

But what frustrates me and other members, are the same asked questions on a day to day basis. And all I have to do is copy and paste my answer from the last time I answered that question.

However, What I do like about that section is that there are a lot of people out there who actually ask a decent question every once in a while and I appreciate helping them as it brings an end to the same thing day in day out.

IMHO this section needs to have a major restructure in rules and possibly an additional moderator or mentor to look after when required.

I enjoy visiting the beginner hacking section, as it shows that HF, although populated with low-quality scammers and leechers, contains genuinely helpful, nice people.

The group Legion, along with a few other members constantly help the beginners learn to develop themselves as hackers. Although the post count is over 1 million, there is very rarely a question left un answered.

Legion and the other members provide helpful answers combined with hyperlinks and 'quick tips' as responses to questions. I estimate 95% of questioners are left satisfied, with a diverse pool of answers and tutorials.

However, despite my positive views of the section, I have many issues with it.

For starters, the mentors group is simply too small, and it's members too busy to manage that section alone. The section is clearly un moderated, as I am using the report post feature too often for anyone to be checking over threads for low quality posts etc.

Members are allowed to openly break the rules, and if it goes un reported the thread is left alone to make the entire section look bad. Omniscient ignores the incredibly helpful section guides written by the useful members, so they're instantly buried and ignored.

Beginners are not told to use the search feature, not where to start as hackers upon registration. As a result, a member will ask a question that has been asked 2-3 times that day, leave the site and then never read the responses. This wastes the time of the helpful members, leaving genuine questions to be buried.

This section needs to be changed. In my opinion, a helpful guide on the section, covering the following needs to be written and stickied:

• How to ask questions in that section.
  


• How to get started in the different areas of hacking.
  


• An angry sounding 'If you break the rules then you will recieve *punishment*.
  

This should greatly reduce spam, and make the section MUCH more HQ.
Alternatively, asign the legion group, or some of the best helpful members as moderators to the section. At least then we could keep track of the section, and do all of the work without needing Omniscient's aid.

What section do you frequent?

Remote Administration Tools.

What do you like about the section?

I like the fact that a lot of people are willing to help out with the noobs, Rage™, Skyline, Stay Plural, Kohsti, Claptrap, myself, and many others I simply can't recall at the moment. That's pretty cool.

What do you dislike about the section?

I tend to have to repeat my answers a lot, "Test it in Anubis.", "Make sure your RAT is open AND listening to the port.", "Turn off Windows Firewall", "Check on canyouseeme.org" for your port. It tends to get a bit stale after a while.

Does it need to be changed?

Yes. The members who are helping need to make more tutorials, AND START LINKING TO THEM. A tutorial doesn't mean ANYTHING if it doesn't get read. We all know regulars don't use the search button, at all.

What do you like in that section: Nothing. I'm just contributing my stuff there and trying to educate the skids.
What don't you like in that section: Obviously, the idiotic behavior of some members there (most*).
How can it be improved: Nohow. > public forum > skids will join all the time > no escape from that.

Pentesting Section

Hi Shadow,

I give you permission to publicly post this PM.

I vist the Pentesting and Forensics section and the quality of this part of the forum is too basic. The forum needs to be split into 2 parts, Beginning Pentesting and Advanced Methods. For example, using Metasploit Framework or writing Basic Stack Based Buffer Overflows would be things that you would see in the beginner's section of this forum. In the more advanced section, you should see things like exploiting Format String Overflows, writing your own shell code byte by byte, or bypassing ASLR, things of that nature.

However, what I do like about the section is that it's not really full of script kiddies. The people that actually take the time to visit this forum and learn about actual hacking, programming, redirecting code execution by examining memory and processor registers are the people that belong here. Using a RAT or performing a DoS attack isn't hacking. Most of the people that use tools of that nature or simply want to flood a server don't really know what they are doing at all, and probably can't write a lick of legitimate code. The people that come into this section want to learn the same methods and concepts that make real hackers.

IMHO this section needs to have a slight overhaul, with subsections of the forum. In a manner of speaking, if it were in the format of a tree it would look something like this-

i visit wireless hacking section frequently and am trying my best to improve that section by helping others and adding some of my tutorials for knowledge.

There are few guys in that section which are actually helping other out and sharing their side of knowledge, that's what i like in this section. I learned a lot from this section.

The only thing i don't like about this section is that everyone is asking same questions like "how to crack WEP" or " how to crack WPA" which actually annoys me.

The only thing i mentioned above needs to be changed in this section.

I frequent the electronics and gadgets section atleast once a day. I find that the majority of the questions are about building and EMP. I would gladly put together and EMP mega thread and have it made a sticky to help prevent the usual flood of "how make emp?". The section does have a rather good selection of people that are showing up and asking questions as well as asking them although there are some who take advantage of the rather low moderation presence to easily get post count up by posting spam and other unnecessary comments. An assigned moderator to the section would be great but I will keep reporting bad posts anyway.

The gadgets section is one of the slower sections on HF but a very very cool section at that.

No realist changes I could do would make that happen.

1. No fucking way are we going to vouch for any downloads.
2. We already have that rule. Members get banned for it every day.
3. We do and we ban them. View the bans.php list yourself.

So as you can see...we already take appropriate measures for everything I've read you're complaining about.

I cannot force users to read every single rule and policy in every sticky as much as I would like that. When was the last time you read a TOS/AUP on a site?
