So wassup guys, yesterday, i got rid of sality virus(🤗) but when i rebooted my computer i noticed something : i have no icons on desktop and i cant click/right-click it. I tried the show desktop option on task bar and deleting explorer.exe in regedit and task manager but both didnt work
PS:I have Win 8 x86

CTRL + ALT + ESC
If this opens your task manager, then select File > New Task > EXPLORER.EXE

See if that helps. Also, if this doesn't work - Maybe booting into Safe Mode will allow you to get some control to repair the damaged registry files and such.

Probably your explorer.exe not working correctly like Corso pointed out.
Worst case scenario, you got a RAT on your pc and someone turned of your desktop, icons and so on with there RAT tool. Don't think that's the case tho :P

What about booting to Safe Mode? Also, when you open the Exporer/File Manager as you are calling it, can you run any programs off a jump drive or anything?
