Hey!
I've spent the last few hours writing this tutorial for you guys because I thought you guys would appreciate it. I apologize for all those watermarks but as I said this took hours to write and I don't want it ripped. Please leave feedback just in case I make another tutorial. Anyway, hope you guys find my tutorial useful!
Introductions.

Yes, I see it now but that wasn't there was it? :D
A very good tutorial, the hard work you put into it shows and I love the dedication you have towards helping others. You have done a good job, sir. A very good one.
looks awesome, will try this out this weekend! thanks for this tutorial, would come in quite useful
Thanks a lot for the kind feedback guys! I appreciate it. I'm thinking about making a tutorial on how to animate it. I know there's plenty of animation tutorials out there but I think an animation tutorial for this specific rain effect would be better because I can tell people what effects to use, etc.
Thoughts?

It was there the whole time (and you can see my post wasn't edited). 🙃
Looks more like snow in my opinion :P

This doesn't look like rain, it looks more like snow. 🤫
Thanks for the tutorial! I will definitely try this out :)
well i've seen this tutorial on Photoshop User TV .. and the result there was more appealing :)
sorry but you rain looks like bad dust , the angle of the rain indicates a freeking hurricane.. :-D
but then you have sunshine in the background etc. ... dont want to get into too much detail here...
the tutorial on how to create the rain effect is pretty good (as seen in the photoshop user tv episode 344 from 4th June)

I know the image in the OP looks pretty bad but please don't base the final result off that.
Take a look at a signature I made for some dude on the Battlefield Heroes forum (Battlefield Heroes is a cartoon shooter).

I used the same method in that signature as I did in the OP.
The reason I didn't use a better image in the OP was because...Well, I was tired and just couldn't be bothered.
Trust me, this method is really good.
Doesn't look like rain at all, but good effort buddy.
I do not deal outside of the forum.
I was looking for this for a long time thanks to the great tutorial :))
