Feedback

1st Year Feedback.

So, basically it turned out that I have been on HF for 1 year and 1 month. So, I decided to make a Feedback on how I see Hack Forums.

HF turned out to be one of my favorite forums and I have spent a lot of time in this forum, It changes every month. New people, new friends, new enemies and new scammers. I love Hack Forums for its Coding, Gaming, Marketplace and Hacking, I am not very active in those sections but I really liked it.

What I love.
I love the forum for it's uniqueness, the people who are trying to help newbies with things such as hacking and stuffs. The people who are really interested on learning more. I love the marketplace as there are people who are selling stuffs who doesn't scam. I make new friends every time because Hack Forums has friendly members who I admire the most. Members gives Freebies and make Giveaways to those who are having trouble or if they want to give something for free. The Coding section helped me learn a little about the language Python and I have been studying about it.

What I hate.
I hate the members who likes scamming and trolling, uses the reputation feature as a weapon. People who leaks tutorials that are spent minutes or times. The ones who makes fake giveaways/tools to infect other members. Some members makes other members life miserable, members who doesn't take care of the stuff they bought and blaming the seller for it.

What I like about the forum.
The forum has a lot of members, the theme is plain which I think makes the forum runs smooth. I like the upgrade system where you can gift upgrades to people who deserves it but doesn't have the money. The sections are very active none of it is inactive, The smilies makes the posts better and also the Avatar Pack that regular users can use is quite awesome. How the staffs responds to the reports and how the sections are moderated, Omniscient who makes things better.

Rating: 9/10
This is my feedback for my 1st year, it is not a HQ feedback like the other feedback which they make. This is my personal opinion so I hope I get no hates about it.
Thanks for the feedback and I got a feeling year 2 will be even better for you here.

I hope so, it's starting to get better though. I am starting to go active on the Marketplace to try to earn some cash and stuffs, I hope scamming won't happen anymore.

In general it can be some-what easy to avoid scammers, though EVERYONE gets screwed over sometimes, including me. (Though it is yet to happen). I suggest you really think about who you deal with. If they have an open scam report and no prior or other deals then there is no reason to deal with them, no matter how lucretive their offer is. If something sounds too good to be true, or they are promising something unrealistic, then it is probably a scam. Why would people sell something which is worth thousands of dollars or earns that much in a month for $10? They won't. Though, you did notice that rep is often times used as a weapon in your feedback, but this is not always true. If you look at a persons rep you can generally get a good feel for someone. People that are new with reps from giveaways and things of that nature are a big red flag in the marketplace. I would just generally avoid them.

Anyway, it is nice to see a fairly good critique of the forum, though I think some of the stuff you hate is a bit speculative and can easily be avoided.

Yeah, I noticed that I have been dealing with scammers already when I got scammed for the first time so I avoided them and go with the ones who are legit. Rep is sometimes used as a weapon, but some doesn't use it as a weapon because, they leave good remarks from what he did/has done that they got amazed with or something like that. I hate those things but I avoid them.

Thanks though. :)
First step in not getting scammed is trying not to get scammed. Don't make deals in situations that are sketchy. If you get a bad feeling then go with your gut and drop the deal. Don't allow greed to persuade you into making a quick buck. Better to lose a deal then lose a dollar. Do your research on the member long before you do the deal. Use methods of payment you're comfortable with. Make sure you have a solid on-site paper trail of the deal. Confirm that whoever you deal with off-site is the same member on HF by sending them a PM here and waiting for a reply.

It's easy for the naive to get scammed. So don't be naive.
