is it possible to bypass .htaccess restrictions?

As the title goes,
would it be possible to bypass .htaccess,
or within a directory make a private/public key .htaccess and make that directory work independently without out sourcing the real .htaccess from root.

already tried mate,
all the hits were for bypassing authentication,
which simply can be done with firefox header..

Looking into directories..
It depends if there is some type of vulnerability in that version of Apache. htaccess is a set of rules given by the server that restricts people from doing something or modifies how the site works. It's an alternative to the httpd.conf or apache2.conf file.
