Fly By Night is a group that focuses in all forms of art as long as you are dedicated and passionate about your craft. Contrary to popular belief, our sub forum is not overflowing with tutorials and guides, because our members are beyond that stage. The purpose of the group is to give artists a place to socialize and share work with like minded others. We are accepting all forms of art ranging from literature to music.
The group was formed on July 28th, 2013, having previously been the Graphic Masters. The change occurred in order broaden the spectrum of art and media the group focused in.

Legion is a group of dedicated members who seek to learn and produce good quality tutorials, give out support in the specified sub sections and help bring hacking back to Hackforums. We are very picky with our choices for whom we pick to be invited into our group so we want only the best of the best. Finally we expect all members to fully know the rules of this forum and to abide by them, though we may be a hacking group we only practice the things that Hackforums allows.
The group was formerly known as The Corporation, purchased from Tibit in January of 2013. When Root was sold to the member Hawkode, members of this group had their personal information from the upgrade database leaked to the public.

The Red Lions is nokia2mon2's special group that he controls. The group was formed as a result of multiple significant donations made by nokia2mon2. He has donated over $8,000 in the name of the group, and has his own award, the Heart of a Lion. The most recent of which prompted Omniscient to add a drop shadow to the usernames of members of the group. The Red Lions and the Reviewers are the only usergroups to have a special username effect. Before the introduction of Omniscient's Deal Dispute Database, the group was in charge of the Red Lions Scammer Database, a list of user-submitted scammers on the forum.
The group was formed in January of 2011 under the sole leadership of nokia2mon2. Many donations have been made in the name of the group, and over 100 member upgrades have been made in the name of the group to date. For a while, two members spearheaded leadership within the group and that of the Black Knights, Hуѕтєяιa X™ and Wolves (nokia2mon2 was inactive.) Eventually, Wolves resigned from leadership as did Hуѕтєяιa X™. Leadership of the group was passed onto Glassy and Morchid. Morchid's account was closed and his leadership removed after a dispute with a staff member. Today, Glassy and nokia2mon2 lead the group in tandem.

*#@?&%! is a gaming group. Its description is as follows: "Time to open up a can of whoop *#@?&%!. It is an invitation only group for professional and dedicated gamers. The group is often called Instinct for quick reference and context. Other than this, not much is known about it.
The group was formerly known as Lannisters, until August of 2013 when Vinnie changed the group.
Status of recruitment: Recruitment is closed, as of May 23rd, 2013. Although Members can purchase their last spots here & one Leadership spot is available here. The group also sends invitations to members they deem worthy.

The Brotherhood is an organization of individuals who are bound by loyalty to exercise their skills, knowledge, and time, which will encourage the acts of assisting oneself and others. The group was initially invitation only, but opened recruitment due to many forum members' interest in joining the group.
The group was formerly known as the Marketers, until it was closed due to members' involvement in massive thread bum ping. It was purchased by Cryptic and remained a blank group for approximately a month, until June of 2013.
In November of 2013, the group had plans to sell to another member and become something else, but they ended when the member xflat purchased Abel's leadership in the group.

Zero is a group of individuals who specialize in marketing. Not much is known about the group other then its involvment with marketing. The group was purchased from iNviZ for $11,000.

Infamous is a group of respected individuals that don't necessarily set out to impress, but to set an example. Members of the group are well known across the forum and set out to represent the higher bar that people may wish to achieve. Not much is known about the true motives of the group, however the mystery behind it propels Infamous's fame and image.
The group was formed on July 3rd, 2012. Infamous was originally known as Propitious, but the exact reasons for changing the group are publicly unknown. The group does not have recruitment like other groups; in previous recruitment threads, members needed to describe why they were Infamous material, with little to no guidelines in mind. One of their only recruitment to date can be found here.

The illuminati is based on marketing, monetizing, selling, buying, trading, currency exchanging, free services & giveaways. In addition to the supposed shadowy and secret organization we are just overall into helping those who desire the passion of making money online & offline. The group is most prominent in the Marketplace, having many tutorials, guides and services in that forum. Many guides exist within the subforum to help group members montenize online and make large amounts of money. Contests are also common from the group; member upgrades, cash prizes and online prizes are among the most common awards for participating.
The group was formed on March 8th, 2012. From its inception, it was an invitation only group and remains so today. (Contrary to popular belief, it was not the first invitation only group. That mantle belongs to the Graphic Masters.)
Status of recruitment: Members can purchase group spots from Anonymous for $100 a month. Read this thread for more info. The group also sends invitations to Hack Forum Veterans.

The Empire is a group of dedicated individuals that will share knowledge within our private sub-forum on a variety of subjects. We will mainly work within our sub-forum, however from time to time we will operate publicly to help enhance the site as best we can. The group was formed alongside The Creed, which was closed for failure to pay the rest of the money for an official group. The Empire is the first group to have an official group sponsored booter, named the Empire Stresser.
The Empire was founded on August 7th, 2012 with Tibit, Detroit, 630 and Hades as leaders. There was a dispute involving the leadership of Hades and 630 as leaders, but the manner was resolved. Members will never be accepted by pay-for-entrance, to quote Tibit, and the group is strictly recruitment & invitation based.

143 is a group of select individuals unified in the ideology of helping and maintaining a certain level of quality throughout all of HackForums. Our basis is simple, in order to have; one must learn to give. The group is focused around giveaways and contests for other members, as well as hosting gaming contests and tournaments. Tutorials are also a large facet of 143: members of 143 prove their position in the group by creating tutorials for the group forum or the public forums. This group was one of the last new groups on HF; the last was Complexity.
The group was formed on September 29th, 2012 under the leadership of Umbreon and Daisy ♡.

The Writ3rs are the third of official HF groups created by Omniscient for site purposes. This group is broken down into two factions: the HF News Team, who manage the HF News weekly periodical and the HF Wiki Team, the group of members who are in charge of the official Hack Forums Wiki (currently under construction.) The News Team is led by Sir, having been founded by the ex-staff member Yin, and the Wiki Team is led by Viral Dragon. The Wiki Team was founded by itylernallen.
The group was formed in October of 2011 by Omniscient. At the time of its formation, he was among the only members in the group, along with Sir and itylernallen. Originally, the Writ3rs consisted only of the Wiki Team, but the News Team was added at a later date to better serve the purposes of the forum.
Status of recruitment: Recruitment for the Wiki Team is closed, as of May 20th. Recruitment for the News Team is open, as of July 31st.

The Malware Removal Team is a group dedicated to assisting Hack Forums members in removing viruses, malicious software, Trojans and more from their computer. It is one of four groups created by Omniscient for official site purposes. It was previously known as the HiJack This Team, but has recently undergone rennovations in order to better serve the interests of the forum. Group members learn the science of malware removal and practice dissecting a computer to find malicious software, and instructing users on how to remove said malware from their computer. After the training process is complete, members can choose to teach other trainees or respond to logs in the Log Analyzer forum.
The group was formed June 17th, 2010 under Valiant, who also asked Omniscient's approval for the group to be formed. The Malware Removal Team suffered from inactivity and a lack of new recruits until Valiant left HF and was replaced by T3h Hacker and Infallible. Omniscient then decided to change the internal structure of the group and open it up to recruitment in the near future. For unknown reasons, Infallible was repfucked, banned, downgraded to Normal permissions and removed from leadership of the group. His account was eventually closed as well.

The Malware Removal Team Trainees is a subgroup of the Malware Removal Team for MRT Students only. Professors, Graduates and Headmasters are members of the regular Malware Removal Team. This group is used to ensure maximum training efficiency and integrity, to prevent trainees from viewing other trainees' practice logs. Members of this group have no userbar and cannot set this group to their visible group.
The group was founded on August 12th by Omniscient.

This is the "real deal". I'm going to college next year; an Ivy League University. It's somewhat unrealistic to be able to maintain this thread at the rate at which it is necessary. Thus, I handed the reins off to Skitlz, who showed that he was "into" the thread. I've given him all the Photoshop files and the keys to the kingdom; what happens next is up to him.

So all that sassafras has passed and everyone can go back to reminiscing on groups past and present, and hear hints of those that might still await us.
